Just out of curiosity and because you whiners basically spoiled Blink for a lot.

Mad Ani posts in this forum section.

He uses 3 eve clients to stream battles (So using CCP property no problem there streams are great)

BUT .............

He has an RL money donate button (EVEN SHOWING THE AMOUNT DONATED SO FAR!!!) along with an isk donate button.
(Using CCP property to make real currency < Problem)

There is something seriously wrong with you all if you see Somer's indirect site funding as (insert 3 letter acronym here) but don't see Mad Ani's direct (insert same acronym here).

So if you are all going to complain that one brush should paint all, get your whiney butts into that thread and do the same thing.

This is one of those things CCP should've never even responded to - those whiners were actually happier BEFORE blink had to change - because they had something to complain about.

Why don't the whiners care about your guy, you ask? Because he's not sharing his pie. With blink, it could certainly APPEAR that some people are on the pie list, and get a big fat slice, over and over and over and over, while most sit there just wishing for one small bite...

Try this:

1. Imagine finding out there is a party you're not invited to.

2. Imagine finding out there's a party you're not invited to where they're giving away iPads and all your friends are invited and know you're NOT invited so they don't say anything to you and when you bring it up afterwards they scold you for acting like the world owes you something while looking down their noses at you over their new iPads...

I know it's not exactly the same - but it should illustrate...that there's a difference. My only point is that it was probably NOT that blink was making enough money to support their server costs OR that they were giving free blink credit that caused all the whining...

You might be getting a bit tired because your breathing across the Atlantic from the US to windmills in the UK and Iceland. SOMER announced they'd do something if you'd play and they didn't do it. That is a **** move. I don't care if the US laws allow corporations to pull **** moves. Again, this is not the US. This is the EVE Universe where a "trustworthy and reliable" corporation, endorsed and sponsored by the creators of said universe, doesn't care enough to refund after they screwed up.

Yes, you deserve your 16B. Here's what I want to know...you're clearly not an idiot, so

  • You know your complaint is actually with CCP, who were the ones who promised the prizes and then reneged after being bullied by the upper crust who don't want riffraff like us owning the same precious innernet space ships THEY have.
  • You know SOMER can't give you your 16B back, because I also put X% more internet space moneys in to try to win that ship...and so did he, and also that guy, and those other 1000 guys, and...

So why do you keep pushing this? Here's my guess:

  1. They're kind of being dickish about it. Ignoring you, not acknowledging your correctness, and not even apologizing.
  2. It looks like everyone on the pie-list is still fat and happy winning the bonk prizes, gigas, etc. - and average a promo win every other day which alone has probably resulted in more than 16B for each, while you haven't won a single flippin' promo since you started complaining...
  3. You LOVE the attention, AND the fact that you still have something to complain about

I disagree. Sure CCP has a part in this, but I don't see why SOMER gets to put all the blame on CCP. For this event, SOMER did a drawing offering prizes to people playing their game, CCP sponsered the prizes, and SOMER ended up with my 16B. Along the way, something went wrong. It doesn't matter to me whether the primary blame is with SOMER or CCP, all I know is that I didn't get a shot at winning a Gold Magnate and SOMER has my 16B. That is why I am still here telling SOMER to do something about this.
And I have filed a petition and made several other forum posts trying to get CCP to do something. I will also keep doing that. Note however that I have to go through the petition system (34 days and counting waiting for a reply) whereas Somerset Mahm has a direct Skype link to CCP.

Sure SOMER can give the isk back. They can set the requirements for a refund to (1) having deposited after the announcement, (2) having played Blinks before the prizes were changed and (3) having requested a refund after the change but before the draw. Not a lot of people will fulfill those requirements, but I do.

Why I think it helps in away it like a second market it gives you a chance to get a ship way less then market value and if your lucky you can make a profit off it I guess its how you look at it
