[Rubicon] Change to Abso, Nighthawk, Eos and Sleip invention

Hello Scientists and Industrialists.

I wanted to catch some of you up on a change coming in Rubicon in case you haven't been reading the Features and Ideas forum where it has been discussed.

In Rubicon releasing on November 19th we are changing the visual models of the Absolution, Nighthawk, Eos and Sleipnir to be based on the other combat battlecruiser. They will be using hulls that match the T1 hull that uses their weapon types. This does not affect the stats of the ships or their build costs, but it does affect the T1 blueprint that they get invented from.

As of Rubicon:

  • The Absolution is now invented from a Harbinger blueprint.
  • The Eos is now invented from Myrmidon blueprint.
  • The Nighthawk is now invented from Drake blueprint.
  • The Sleipnir is now invented from Hurricane blueprint.

Ahhhhh...wondered why my program error'd out on the DB for this :P

Looks like the datadump doesn't have the correct activity records (8 for invention) for this change though in ramTypeRequirements. FYI

Hi i have been inventing t2 Absolution blueprints from my highly researched Prophecy Blueprint but your changing the blueprints to the Harbinger blueprint will you been swapping my prophecy print to a Harbinger blueprint as i don't even own an original Harbinger blueprint. ?

Invention does not benefit in any way from a researched BPO.

I guess you have to buy a new Harbinger BPO then.

The Prophecy Blueprint with Me is used to build the T1 hull that is used in the T2 production.

So anyone else having trouble with invention from the changed BPCs?

I am trying to do an invention run of Eos off of a Myrmidon BPC and getting the message:

This job cannot result in an output blueprint. The reason might be that the metalevel of your input blueprint is too high or that there are no items in the same metagroup with a higher metalevel.


I get the same for Harbi and Drake BPCs as well.

I get this same message. Also, the Drake, Hurricane, Harbinger, and Myrmidon blueprints (original or copies) don't seem to have an invention materials tab in the show info window.

Yeah, same here, all invention relevant tabs are missing, only thing thing that seems to work correctly is the "Output Type" e.g. Myrm shows the Eos. What's a bit annoying is, that CCP doesn't seem to address the problem, due to the fact that this is not the only thread regarding this issue. Something like "Hey Guys, this is a bit f**ked up, please give us time" would have helped.

Having just returned to EVE after a year off, I couldn't find my Nighthawk. Finally noticed the strange looking T2 Drake in my hanger and realized they had changed the hull. (don't do this to old people, we get confused easily)

I missed the conversation and don't understand why this decision was made, and have to say I'm not pleased, I loved the look of the old Night Hawk.

Water under the bridge I guess, but change happens.

Edit: looks like the changes were more than cosmetic, guess I'd better go check out the patch notes.
