in the first week of Rubicon?

I think I read an estimate that there are about 2500 planets in high-sec. It would be very insightful if someone could generate a graph that shows how they change hands after the update goes live.

Do you mean interbus pocos destroyed once or pocos in general as people squabble over turf?

The former? 300-500.

The latter? tack on another hundred.

i think not much, most PI is done in null or w-space.... A few hundred at most, how many high-sec solar systems there are with plasma/magma worlds, with stations, near major trading hubs...?

Barren and Terrestrial worlds are arguably bigger targets, Factory worlds are more profitable.

all of the NPC customs will be gone on the first few days... anyone can fly to them and shoot them, you don't go suspect, you don't even trigger pvp flags.

just fly an alt on a lazer ship with t1 crystals and afk.

now, POCOs will take months to be set up. most planets will go without pocos for ages. the problem is, even the "elite pvp" will not even bother after the first few months. anyone can dec from a disposable corp, wait for most of the target corp to be offline, and reinforce all the pocos in a system in an hour. after a month of having to show up to timers, most hsec corps will call it quits.

in lowsec you can't grief with such impunity since you have to watch out for neutrals too.

honestly to pay for the time and effort alone, taxes will need to be a minimum of 20% - 25%. no way the average highsec pi dude will pay that, even with current 10% taxes its nearly a zero sum game.

(NPC taxes are getting a hike to 17%... for some reason no one in sis noticed this.)

Death to -ALL- structures.

BoBwins Law: As a discussion/war between two large nullsec entities grows longer, the probability of one comparing the other to BoB aproaches near certainty.

There is no such thing as an interbus poco.

Actual pocos will start being destroyed after interbus co's are destroyed to make space for them.

pretty sure the devblog said the taxes are going down, and a skill to reduce them further?

yes, yes they are.

These two changes (new skill and adjusted tax base values) mean that the NPC portion of the tax is going to be less than it is right now.

After EVE Online: Rubicon comes to EVE on November 19, all Customs Offices in empire space (0.5 security status and above) will become owned and operated by InterBus, an NPC corporation.

i think that is what is being referenced here.

As far as I have heard people use High sec Poco's near trade hubs to produce higher tier items such as Nanite Paste. Buy the lower tiers off the market and then use these so called worthless planets to produce the better items.

It would be nice to see numbers showing the activity of high sec poco's but that would be too much I guess.

Play EvE how you want to play it and do not let others dictate how you play. Evolve your playstyle to protect yourself from others! Even in "PVE", "PVP" is there, lurking in the shadows.

soon we can work that out for ourselves, sort of. the taxes generated by each poco will be a good indicator of activity.

clearly the major CO bashing will take place round Jita as people attempt to control the local factories that drive that place.

But more generally I expect the null sec alliances to invest in crushing the POCOs around Jita and set the tax to 100% for none alliance members. Then start advertising a high sec arm of the alliance for people to use their factories. So that in the upcoming war between high and null sec they can have a ready made fifth column ready to betray the empires.

All of them. And I expect a multitude of groups to gun for them, not just 0.0 bigshots. Not all 0.0 groups have an interest in Empire PVP mechanics, and the TZ warfare needed to own them after the initial Interbus ones are popped are a matter of persistance, not military might. Compared to other structures a POCO's EHP isn't the hurlde, the reinforcement timers are.

PVP groups will be more effective countering attacks, but indy groups have less issues replacing the damn things. And I don't see why lowsec groups wouldn't come down to highsec to grab a few, perhaps with some wardecs involved. Perhaps the ganking cummunity will start blapping them without even replacing them, leaving that to chance and oppurtunity?

I'm well aware even CCP can't fully predict how they will be distributed in a couple of months. I'm just happy that I can now affect that status quo on principle. Death to all NPC structures!
