Was planned, but never gonna happen since everyone with an alt will have enough to buy a Monocle.

Players without alts could just find a few friends, merge their AUR, buy a monocle and sell it for ISK. There would also be players who buy up AUR from other unkown players, buy a monocle and sell it for ISK. As you can see the AUR of players with multiple accounts wouldn't be worth more than the AUR of players without multiple accounts.

Look at the Isk/Aur ratio of NeX items that cost less than 5500 Aur. Look at the ones that cost more. There is too much free Aur out there to avoid crashing the entire Aur market if it becomes transferrable. Alts/Cartels just affect where the isk goes as it crashes.

If Aurum could be traded, then there'd be less PLEX broken up to purchase vanity items. That would impact CCP's bottom line, so I doubt we'll see Aurum trading any time soon. If it turns out that Aurum is the Micro-Transaction currency of Dust, then I suspect that Aurum trade and transfer would come into the picture.

This assumes Microtransaction purchased BPCs and equipment costs less than $15-$20. I can't see someone paying $20 for a Caldari sniper rifle that they're going to loose soon as they get popped by a Minimatar beserker with a chainsaw. The BPC would need to be a 100 run deal or something on that order to be worth $20.

All guess work at this point. :P
