I have begun to run missions in order to get my standings up with the caldari faction and caldari navy.
I will likely only run caldari faction missions in order to get my standings at jita up.

I have read that the type of enemy me u are facing should dictate which type of weapon systems you should use.
Though i have been leaning toward gallente battle cruisers, I am not set in my ways whatsoever.

The question i have is whether there is a specific faction/ship type that i should be going for.
Also which would be the better weapon type? (i.e. hybrid vs projectile turrets)

My personal preference would be projectile or missile.
Reasoning:
1) Do not use capacitor to fire
2) You can change output damage type to play on NPC's weakness

As for ships, I prefer shield tank.
Positive: Low slots open for damage mods, boosters rep at start of cycle
Negative: Mid slots not available for utility mods or cap stability mods.

In Caldari space, you'll mostly be facing:
1) Guristas, they deal Kin/Therm on you and are weak to Kin
2) Sansha, they deal EM/Therm on you and are weak to EM
3) Rogue Drones, they deal Kin/Exp on you and are weak to EM

I'd recomend flying (in no particular order):
• Raven (can deal all damage types)
• Dominix (sentry drones use no ammo)
• Rattlesnake (sentry drones use no ammo, plus passive shield regen=no active booster)

unless someone really steers me in another direction i think im gonna go into gallente ships
just picked up the vexor for now, prolly headed towards myrmidon and then dominix

the projectile turrets seem to be the way to go instead of missiles(being that im gonna train gallente skills). also saw a few mentions of the railgun as being a good option.

would i be wrong in sying the autocannons are for a longer range? (in genereal)
and I was under the impression you could swap ur ammo for all the weapon types

and to your comment varkath.. im such a long way off being able to trust myself in that level of a ship, though im definitely thinking of it for a final option

I wasn't saying Hybrid turrets are bad, I just prefer to have guns that don't use capacitor. Hybrids work perfectly well for missions. And if you want to use drones, definitely go for the Dominix. Works great for L4's

For projectile turrets:
• Artillery = long-range
• Autocannon = short-range

You can swap ammo with all weapon types, but what I meant was that projectiles and missiles are the only types that allow you to switch outgoing damage types.

Hybrids deal Kin/Therm ALWAYS
Lasers deal EM/Therm ALWAYS
Missiles can deal any of the damage types (only one type at a time).
Projectile turrets can deal any damage type (two at a time, for example...Proton ammo deals EM/Kin)

If you're looking to repair Faction standings, check out 'The Plan'.

As for mission enemies, the main thing to look for is the type of damage they shoot as well as the type of damage they're weak against and then fit your ship accordingly.

Now about the type of weapons to fit, most ships will have a bonus for a specific type of weapon pertaining to that ships Faction. That info is found in the ships information / description box.
