Best "fitting" for a Freighter

So we have no fittings available to freighters.

This much is clear.

But we have SP and skills that can reduce total round-trip freighter transit.

What skills apply bonuses?

Does Navigation mean it takes longer to warp as your top speed is faster?

Which freighter has the fastest align time?

Your top speed has *NOTHING* to do with your align time. Unlike the real world, in EVE all that matter's is your ship's agility, which is the product of your ship's mass and inertia modifier. This is why MWDs and ABs add mass when activated - so that your ship aligns slower when using them. This might be the reason why people think that the faster your ship goes, the longer it takes to align.

If two ships have the same agility, they will take the exact same amount of time to reach warp speed (or their top speed) regardless of what their top speed is.

The Fenrir has the fastest align time (along with the highest top speed), making it the best for "fast" couriers. Also note that the 'Nomad' implants will also improve your ship's agility, thus making your freighter align even faster.

imo, it is not the align time in a freighter that really makes the trips arduous, but the horrendous warp speed. At less than 1.0 au per second, when transiting larger systems, you can almost have the time to smoke a cig before landing at far gate.

If you want to actively pilot while hauling, getting an alt to web you & advanced spaceship command 5 will both help align time.

If you want to be lazy, turn on sound on the freighter client, activate warp to next gate, activate a/p, tab out to something more fun... when you hear the client tell you it is jumping to next system, tab back over, deactivate a/p, initiate warp to next gate, activate a/p, tab back to fun thing, risce & repeat.

Evasive Maneuvering 5 - accelerate to warp speed faster
Advanced Spaceship Command 5 - accelerate to warp speed faster
Navigation 5 - reach the gate faster when AFK
Racial Freighter - more cargo and reach the gate faster when AFK

Mechanic 5 - maximum structure (freighters are mostly structure)
Hull Upgrades 5 - maximum armor
Shield Management 5 - maximum shield

Note that getting to warp faster is important when at the keyboard (ATK) and warping to zero, but not as important as speed is when AFK.

When traveling AFK, freighters spend most of their time traveling from 15 km to 2.5 km gate activation distance, not accelerating to warp.

Slot 6 - Hardwiring - Eifyr and Co. 'Rogue' HY-2 = 15% increase warp speed from 0.75 au/sec to 0.8625 au/sec
Slot 7 - Hardwiring - Eifyr and Co. 'Rogue' AY-2 = 5% more agility
Slot 8 - Hardwiring - Inherent Implants 'Noble' ZET3000 = 5% more structure

I currently own 4 Charon and 3 Rhea across my 5 accounts. I went Caldari primarily for the Charon, because I rarely AFK, and every m3 counts for the stuff I haul. My second choice was Amarr, largely because of the standout Prorator blockade runner, and the rest of the Amarr line-up is overall pretty decent.

I recommend considering all ships that racial industrial makes available before deciding to train for a freighter. There are no bad racial choices, but they are all a bit different.
