After the warp speed changes that are arriving with Rubicon, we need this : http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xpOMc9ysuek
Perhaps make this effect available only to cruiser and sub cruiser class hulls.

Yeah, I asked for a similar thing in the past although I used the new Star Trek films as example - this is an identical method to the films, and looks great doesn't it? +1

That would be realy awesome, but i believe the main reason this is not yet implented is that the Devs still want players to see where the ship is warping to.

Easy solution, use the Star Trek approach. Wherever the ship warped to, you will see a shining light for a few moments.
Absolutely love this, but only for those ships that reach a certain warp speed.

I Want this in my life,

This would add so much more to eve, and break away from its inherent slow feeling

This is actually making me dislike playing atm, I want to see an inbound shot too please. I would just loiter at stations to watch.

this effect makes much more sense than current slow warp acceleration through stations, rocks and other obstacles.

Opinions are like assholes. Everybody got one and everyone thinks everyone else's stinks.

Guys, can you, ummm, make that warp trail last a little longer, and make it a bit longer as well? I think it is useful to be able to see for a split second direction where someone warped off.

Id like to know how this effect could be adjusted to compensate for ships that are slow to get off grid (capitals).

The other benefit of this from a technical standpoint is that the devs can class a ship off grid the second the animation fires, removing the ship from the simulation earlier and not getting silly situations where the ship is briefly at 2000000000 km according to the overview. I'm not sure if that would help the simulation, but i have a sneaking suspicion that it may sometimes negatively impact the simulation.

Wow, that's impressive. I'd really like to see it ingame. With the current warp accelerations it wouldn't make much sense, but after Rubicon's changes... I think it really fits! +1

I wish. Asked for this multiple times including in an Art Panel at Fanfest. Would be great to see on coming out of warp too.
I don't think it would really affect any immersion with warp acceleration, As that speed off of grid is still maybe on a few thousand km/s compared to the au/s that you get in warp.

I'd settle just for ships to not just stop before then entering warp at the moment however :p
