How can we get across to CCP just how badly they screwed up?

Clearly from the response from CCP Goliath in answering the only positive post that contained even a shred of intelligence, whilst simultaneously ignoring the 'disappointed' others shows they have no idea how annoyed we are.

How do we get across the message that this was a fracking disaster.

Try this for size.

CCP Live Events:- It's hard to imagine just how they could have made things any worse for the majority of their real money subscriber base, than when you deliberately bore us to death and then arrange for us to be murdered, anything else is just dancing on our grave

can we place containers all throughout hisec with this message until they wake up!

Probably why we are not allowed to anchor them in 1.0

other suggestions very very welcome

He tried to do a "politically correct" response. Don't focus on it. It's just a effort to fill the void. Either CCP has a lot to think about or they are just arrogant/stupid/incompetent. I think most players will adjust to the outcome of this event. By not bothering. As long as they have other avenues still looking interesting in the game. When they are gone. Eve is dead.

The sad thing is you are right, but at least we can say our mind before we leave.

I'm not sure you can come up with anything, CCP cares about it's players more than you might think. But it also cares about it's games reputation, it's reputation is that it's a dark and brutal place in space. Bad things happen and if you play for any length of time they will happen to you.

CCP might push out an apology for it but nothing beyond that. I mean what do you want them to do? Give everybody gifts? I mean it's an event gone wrong not a functionality issue. It's not something that changes the game in anyway. It's just an event that will go down in gaming history as the largest blunder ever in an MMO.

No gifts. No apologizes. No falling on the sword. Good events is the only thing that will cure this. But they will fail. No one will bother. For a considerable amount of time.

CCP brainstorming session: Hey, I've got an idea, let's plan a live event that proves to EVERYONE just how f'ing bad Eve is at server management.

CCP team response 1: Brilliant!! It will highlight one of our worst features! Oh, and at the same time let's prove to the goons once and for all how much disdain we have for hi-sec pubbies. We wish they would all ragequit too!

CCP team response 2: Yeah, maybe those dumb*** carebears will finally get a clue what we mean by Rubicon.

No, I want a frigging apology for wasting 1.5 hours of TOIL (that's Time Off In Lieu) from work to get home to help my Corp Mate get setup and in system for this catastrophe that was cited as being UNIQUE and never to be repeated and for the 4 hours of my life wasted in TiDi hell trying to get to the second staging system.

I DESERVE that much respect as a paying customer and that I was super-hyped for this event. I Tweeted like I've never Tweeted before (IC OFC) and even got this response from CCP Goliath.

Well don't I feel dumb now and I will never endorse a CCP Live Event again.

@CCP: We deserve an apology at the very least, show us the respect we deserve for at least trying to get involved and not the contempt that others have and do not think we will forget the events of 07/11 or that you can bury this or us with Rubicon. We are EVE...always remember that.

I feel that you think you are entitiled to something that you are not. I mean really you are not entitled to anything in EVE. ZYou play it because it is fun for you. If it was not fun you, then you can stop playing. It is really that simply.

On a side note while you did not enjoy it, about 400 people from 0.0 did. And 0.0 is what makes EVE goes around. 0.0 battle are what make major news around the world, such as last battle of TEST in 6V-D. That is what people want to read about and care about. No body cares that you kill 300 Gurstia rats in high sec in 4 hour outside you.

To me your idea is like people in the States saying that sports players shouldn't get a free education for playing the sport. That normal students are just as imporant. My counter is that when 95,000 show up to watch that regular guy take a TEST, he'll get the freeride.
INn New Eden, Null Sec is the sports stars. They are the ones that are famous or imfamous. Outside Chiriba, I can not think of one HighSec guy that is known in EVE. While ever one in EVE knows, Mittens, Progod, shaddo or Vince draken.

I would say that I am sorry for your loss, but it would not be true. Like everything else in the sand box you had a choice to go our not. You went. did you lose some time sure. did you lose a ships sure. Was the event unsucessful? Not a bit. Some people had fun and that is what CCP will look at. Not you crying on the forums.

I am not going to say HTFU or this EVE as I feel you would not understand, but I wil say that if you want to quit EVE over this then thats okay. I shall not miss you.

What a load of clap-trap.

Let me just get this straight for you as you seem to have a "rockstar mentality" (and I can't even believe you went that far) I didn't lose a ship. I want blank cloned up in a fit I was willing to lose and nowhere in my post did I say otherwise. My point was this if you'd care to read it that as a paying customer, I'll say again a paying customer, I deserve an explanation and an apology like so many others.

Using your rather pathetic analogy: If I stated "I'll take you to a rock show and show you something you will never see again" and then the journey took 8 hours instead of 2 hours and it wasn't communicated and I told you 6 hours into the journey that the show was over but it's OK cos the "rock stars" had a great time and just left you with that would you be happy? No, I don't think you would.

I said nothing about cancelling and I seriously think you just read what you wanted to and got a little deluded with your rockstar persona. This "event" did nothing to encourage anyone to participate in a CCP event again and I don't think it actually encouraged any High-Sec "Carebears" into going to Null\Low which means less kills for you "rock stars" and I'm pretty sure scared a few of the noobs as well.

Try looking at the bigger picture before spouting your "Null Sec dwellers are gods, oh your tears are delicious, don't fly what you can't afford to lose" crap.

And I wouldn't understand? Really? I understand you are rude and disrespectful to someone you don't know and I have no more time for you. I play EVE how I want and have done for the past 10 years so I've probably seen more in that time than you may ever see but I certainly don't know it all, far from it, nor do I claim that "I'm the one making the news" unlike you.

No not really.

I went through this experience as a major contributor and mod writer for D&D back when 4th edition hit. The devs were obsessed that they knew better than the player base, they totally ignored the masses that abandoned the game with 4th edition, convinced they would get a brave new breed of young 4th edition players.

Devs in any game have an inflated sense of self importance and tend to only read or see what inflates their egos further. In the case of D&D the game failed and has never recovered ( the player base went to another company Pathfinder) but the devs in question still never took responsibility, blaming the open licence system of the old game for the failure.

Given that no Dev replied (or even posted at all) since CCP Goliaths failed appeasement, my guess is those in charge know exactly how big they screwed up...

Lets wait and see how the damage control will look this time Twisted

Nope they had their chance, It was clear that this was an extinction level event that needed emergency crisis management.
They really have exhausted the patience that was being maintained with great difficulty under the circumstances.

not so much Nero fiddling while Rome burned, more CCP partying while EVE died.

People are treating this like some sort of apocalyptic "DEAD GAME" event on the scale of T20 or Monocle-Gate, which is downright ridiculous. Yes CCP screwed up by creating a meat grinder, by failing to reenforce nodes, etc, but the event had no long term impact on the game world. At this point its best that the devs not dive in, just hold back and wait for the flames to die down before responding. Look at Valve handled last weeks Dota 2 fiasco, by waiting until the fire was out they avoided any form of insane backlash.

tl;dr: Calm down, CCP will say something when you do.
