CCP are trying to encourage people to move to low sec and null sec to populate the system out there more.
Then you host an event like this and now every care bear who went to the live event and died in a fleet of epic whelpiness will now run straight back to high sec and carry on living there.
As the last experience and probably first experience in null lead them to being killed in the carnage that was Doril or RMOC-W.
I think you have done more damage than good to your newer player basis today which yes may lead to a few people wanting to venture out there but how many will now see this as a negative experience towards moving from the safety of high sec.

However as a pilot who has recently returned to high sec to take a break from null sec, Yes this was great fun to die in a fire again. Even if it did seen poorly organised

See, the premise of your argument is flawed.
CCP does not care one whit about its high sec sub base, as was proven yet again today.

But have no fear. The high sec base will have to adapt, and soon.
Those that think the high sec POCO's is the end of high sec control being handed to the cartels are in for a rude shock.

The newest Ayn Rand fanatic is now in charge of the direction of Eve.
Expect a lot more erosion, or total removal, of the walls between null sec and high sec.

Currently in a WH to take a break from null atm. Nothing happens for me at this tz and thought I would try the event on a low SP alt. If they were trying to get people into null, they just showed the worst parts (such as tidi and bigger blob wins). I miss null, but if I was a newbie considering null, this would of pushed me away.

Maybe this event is to start the death of the empires.

^^ This. Exactly. I do not live in Null sec, but I've considered it. After this event (which was my first, and will be my last), I think a lot our minds have been made up that Null is exactly as advertised. Bad.
In fact, it has only proven that WORMHOLES are the best place to be.

In wormhole life, rarely will you ever get TIDI, because you don't have to deal with ridiculous whelping fleets. I have not enjoyed any combat in TIDI, ever. It's essentially like trying to watch a 1080p youtube video on dialup. 3 seconds. . buffering. 3 seconds..buffering. ..3 seconds..

I think this is a great event for the wormhole communities. This event showcases how broken the majority of k-space is and hopefully after this last disaster will drive people to wormholes.

Also, any new people I bring to the game or meet I will further discourage from any future live events. It was a complete waste of time as I woke up incredibly early to participate only to never get out of TIDI warps to Ihal, and then not be able to make it back to my wormhole for PVP that happened as the event faltered.

TL;DR Move to wormholes. It's so much better than any of this ****. You don't have to worry about fail communications from CCP (through Twitter) about events you don't need to give a **** about. Just continue on your WH duties, creating and finding pew.

When I was a newbie in 2005, there were mission agent reward offers (before we had LP stores).

One of these offers was that you should go aquire some contraband narcotics for the mission agent in exchange for (what I thought at the time) was a lot of money.

So having read the lore like a good little newbie, I got it into my head that Syndicate would be the best place to by drugs. After all "Its markets are always chock full of contraband goods and illegal wares that are hard or impossible to come by elsewhere."Roll

The bubble camp that I encountered on my first jump into nullsec and the loss of my brand new terribly fit cormorant proved otherwise.

So take heart, kids. At least you don't have built in game mechanics that encourage newbies to fly into nullsec in search of drugs to buy
