so, are live events gone?

popping back in here after more than 3 months gone and caldari prime stuff is still floating around. the last major live event seems to have been the battle between the gallente and minmatar over that assasin dude.

(from my point of view it seems like they up and vanished since i took a hiatus)

Live Events are still here, they won't propably do no more Battle for Caldari Prime big style events.

Actually what they said was they have no plans for an Event like that in the works currently. They certainly didn't rule it out as a future thing.
However a lot of people expressed unhappiness over the way it ran for a number of different reasons, so my guess would be that in a similar situation we would probably see smaller capsuleer involved events, with reports of main fleet engagements happening, rather than all being at the main fleet engagement.

That said, I have worried about live events as we have seen very little movement. The odd news report is happening, but we haven't even seen the C.P. event ribbons awarded yet (unless they were stealth ninja'ed and no-one noticed them appear) and it's been months since the last Dev run event I'm aware of.

We have been pretty transparent about what we are doing tbh. We slowed down over the summer, ran a photography competition, and have recently been kicking around some ideas for what we want to do next. Also rumors of no more large events are just that - rumors. We have said nothing of the sort except to clarify that we are not working on one at this precise moment in time.

Falcon has assured me and others that there are plans in place for more events once CCP people return to the office. What these plans are however I don't know, just Soon(tm)

-add more missions (NPC fleet vs. NPC fleets that actually shoot)

P.S.: Some of us expected the Black Eagles to show up and suspect-flag everyone for an "illegal protest," for future reference. Lots of us over at Live Events have some pretty wild ideas if CCP is willing to hear them out.

Thats pretty harsh, we don't know he was the one that thought sending 2000 people through 23 jumps of 10% TiDi was a good idea. We also don't know he was the Dev who ordered everyone to jump into an obvious camp.

Yes someone woke up this morning and was hit around the head with the stupid stick, but we don't know which Dev did it.

The thing is CCP have a strange theory that all news is good news. They don't seem to be able to tell the difference between something that gets lots of comments for a positive or negative reason. I wouldn't be surprised if they are currently celebrating a fine event. they will look at the killboards, see lots of deaths and assume a good time was had by all.

Hmmmmm, maybe they have more than one stupid stick.
