Allowing corp mates to deposit into a station container within a corp hangar?

Hi all,

How do I allow people to simply deposit items into a station container, which is in the corp hangar.
They can deposit into that hangar already, but not the station containers.

Thanks

They need to have the config equipment role.

Why? Well because the corp management interface sucks and the roles and permissions model sucks even harder.

Edit: It has to do with how well CCP thinks about interfaces and UI (Though its getting better). For instance, ever wondered why for email you can right click the all email container and select read but for notifications you cannot do that, you will have to click the button in the bottom of the window.

Now it says "You require take access to open the container requested" even when I just want to drop something in. Any ideas?

Edit a member/role and go into the drop down menu on the right and do container access (headquarters or otherwise) and you can give access there

The only option is "Take" and I believe that allows someone to take the entire container.

Here's the full picture. My friend (in RL) has started a mining corp and I'm trying to set up the roles for him. His 2nd division in the corp hangar is called "Ore". Within this hangar are several station containers, one for each of the corp members to dump their ore in. The idea is that they deposit their ore, and once a week the CEO comes by, takes the ore and wires them the cash.

Now, for this this to work for him I need the corp members to be able to deposit into station containers (within the corp hangar), but not take from them.

Currently I've given the miners query access to the "Ore" hangar, and given them the "configure equipment" which I was told I required to access station containers. As it stands, when I try to deposit anything into a container in the ore hanger it says "You require take access to open the container requested".

Any ideas?

Dump on top of the can without opening it should work.

test with a (semi) trusted party (such as an alt) with no/limited roles as a typical member would have.

One of the bitter points of a good bittervet is the realisation that all those SP don't really do much, and that the newbie is having much more fun with what little he has. - Tippia

I've tried, it says:

"You have been denied access.
You require take access to open the container requested."

I must be missing something. Surely if I add "take access" anyone can just take all the ore?

This is how I have always dealt with the problem.

All miners have access to one corp hanger which is full of empty station containers. They take one, put their name on it and fill it with their ore. They then drop it into another corp hanger 'Ore buy back hanger'. (you do not need access roles to put stuff into corp hangers)

The people accepting the ore have access to the 'Ore buy back hanger' can take the containers out pay your members and put the empty containers back in the first hanger.

If your miners get itchy fingers all they have access to is empty containers, so no biggie if they all get stolen.

Thats a great idea, thanks. Simple but effective.
