Astero and Stratios -- what will they cost?

I know there will be initial inflation as people rush to grab these two new ships, but once things calm down, what do you anticipate the two Sisters vessels will settle at in terms of price (ballpark, obviously)?

Less than 200m for the cruiser after the first week or so. It's only 120k LP from highsec agents.

If I were to enter a pool for the price once it stabilizes after say about 60 days, I'd guess it at about 125 million.

Supply and demand will keep the price down somewhat, as the demand will probably be high but there will also be a lot of them available as they are very accessible to anyone and don't come from null sec. Additionally since they are warp while cloaked ships those people who are actually buying them for PvE are unlikely to lose them very often. So they probably won't die enough to keep the price high for very long.

Reality has an almost infinite capacity to resist oversimplification.

Can you link to where you got the LP cost?

I would have assumed it was the same as other pirate cruisers which are 240k LP + 15 million for the ship or 80k LP + 20 million for the BPC.

Will they have any PvE utility at all? I thought the running consensus was that they were yet another "PvP only" boat. Would be wonderful if the Stratios could do 4s. In that case, I'd likely never fly anything else again. Straight

*Edit*

As an aside, has CCP dropped any hints about an SOE battleship? I love this faction's styling, and a bigger boat would be wonderful.

They can definitely be used for PvE and can L4s, but with 100m3 bandwith and 4 turrets with no damage bonus, there's really no reason to use it over a regular BS other than the 'fun' factor. You're wasting the cloak, scan, and exploration bonuses by using it for L4s, in fact, a Myrm or Navy Vexor is very similar to the Stratios and able to do L4s better.

It would make much more sense to use it for low/null sec exploration PvE such as combat/relic/data sites.

I don't think there has been any mention of a SoE BS from CCP, but it would be awesome. If they retain the same bonuses it would be the only BS capable of Covert Ops Cloak which would be sick.

I think you'll have to ask someone who does PvE to answer that, when I saw the thing I never even thought about an exploration fit, only whether or not to train up probing to full 5s before the thing went live.

Apparently there is a place holder for some sort of battleship (SoE potentially) but it has no bonuses or much of anything to go with it, it's called the Nestor and is in the database on the test server. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_v7w9qMQCZk shows it at 5:55 in the video, but it basically just looks like a star destroyer from star wars with almost no details. I wouldn't get my hopes up necessarily but it could happen or maybe it's something else altogether or it may never see the light of day.

The placeholder model is a generic placeholder model, and the stats are copy-pasted from the Rattlesnake.

However, the description points to a SOE battleship. It won't be released (they would have mentioned it by now) so expect it at a later date, if at all.

They have already said that these ships won't be the last ones we get from SoE, and they've more or less confirmed the battleship will come at a later time.

They'll probably see how these ships pan out first, how people use them etc. before they show more of the battleship though.

It's still SoE LP. From what I can tell there is only one highsec security agent. Not to mention the continuous huge demand and huge LP cost. I think it will be a bit more than 200m.

120 k LP for BPC, not for the ship itself. And BPC itself wil also cost 30 mio. So the builded ship would cost about 300 millions, at least, IMHO. And if some not so clever person will pay 300 000 LP for ready ship, he would hardly sell it under 500 - 600 milions. So after first boom the price will stabilize at 350 - 450 milions.

There are more High sec SOE agensts; ccp added more due to TiDi in the system of teh former lone high sec L4 agent.

The price will prolly stabilise at 1000 Isk/LP thus the ship will prolly be around (120000 Lp + 30.000.000 sik + say 10mil in minertals ) 160 mil. its still High sec LP

Thank God.

It reminds me of the Star Destroyer knockoffs from the original Star Fox. It makes an appearance at 0:30 in this video: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xja9bjOOePk

This, however I would expect even higher.

-other pirate cruisers primarily come from drops, not LP. The supply of pirate cruisers will not adjust quickly to changing demand, because the supply is reliant on people shotting faction rats, living in particular areas of space, and the incentive to go shoot these rats is based on the total value of possible drops, not the value of any particular pirate cruiser.
-faction navy cruisers come only from LP, but that LP can also be gained through FW, so this will always be more expensive than a navy cruiser, not to mention the hundreds of level 4 security agents for the main factions and the years people have had to accrue LP reserves. Widely available LP means that the supply of navy cruisers adjusts quickly to demand.
-Even with time to get ready, there is no way that the current supply of SOE LP is anywhere close enough to satisfy demand for these ships.
-Both ships will be in high demand for both PVE and PVP for the foreseeable future.

Conclusion: The Stratios will be >500m per hull even two months from now. Also, the new hisec lvl 4 agent should mean virtue set implants may come down a bit in price in the very long term.

Also consider that the talk is CCP will further boost the LP cost for the bpc/hull if purchased anywhere besides NPC null. If anyone has the dev blog link throw it in, but CCP said +50% lp cost to start with.
