Hyperion Turret Bays

Recently brought myself a Hyperion and notice the Ship has 8 hard points on the outside yet can only equip 6 Turrets and 1 Launcher Bay. Ship looks silly with just 7 turrets, could there be a possible patch that could allow an 8th turret? maybe another Launcher bay? So it evens out to 6 Guns and 2 Launchers.

The Hyperion used to have 8 turret slots. During the last expansion it got rebalanced. Its battlesbip gun bonus was increased and its actual turret count lowered so that its effective gun count stayed approximately the same.
This was done with the idea in mind that with two 'utility' highslots (slots in which you cannot sensibly put guns or missiles) the hyperion could use say 2 heavy neuts to assist its close range dps I kill you role. (Neuts are great for shutting down active tanks among other things)

If it is about looks you can fit a salvager and a tractorbeam in the utility high slots. For pve

Its all about the looks for me. I just added 3 rails and 3 Neut and 1 Missle launcher to it, however the ship looks unbalance on the outside. I have this turret bay that cant be used Ugh

My OP should have said 7 Turrets not 8 my bad.

You can mix and match the actual high slot in fitting to make it look more evened out. i used to meddle with the rupture high slots for instance and made it so the missile launcher was on the very top and very bottom of the model.

I can however im using 7 turrets which means I have 4 on 1 side and 3 on the other.. I guess I can just use 6 turrets instead. I just don't see why they cant just add another turret slot and nerf the Bonuses.

Maybe because if you have 8 guns you'd need more powergrid, CPU and capacitor, and would have to swap a mid or a low slot to a high slot? Leave the Hyperion as it is, it got a lot better after the last rebalance pass.

I agree, The Hyperion is a great machine and im loving it. Cant wait to deck it out. Just the 7 turret designs looks like im missing a turret every time I look at her.

How near are you zoomed in that you can even see that? I think the only time I ever see my ship is when it's in my hangar, and even then, it's usually covered by many, many other windows, so I technically only really see my ship when I'm fitting it.

When in space, zoom out and turn on your tactical overlay: it's MUCH easier to get a solid sense of the battle when you don't have a big ship (your ship) taking up the majority of your monitor.

Its a Visual thing for me. Its like a scratch on your car, no one can tell but you know its there.

they will likely change the model in the future. (then again maybe not)

either way if it's a pvp hype it should be 6 turrets 2 neuts. pve i suppose i would go tractor beam and salvager.

I also love the Hyperion and use it whenever possible. The ship has seven high slots and one launcher slot. Some people use a medium to heavy neut in there. I used to, but switched to a RLML, because even with a tech 2 tracking computer, frigates/drones can get under your guns.

I find the Hyperion to be a mini Marauder. The drone bay is big enough to fit any combination of drones. I throw in 3 salvage drones to do away with the need for a tractor/salvager. Then I just burn in, blast and loot my missions. I haven't pvp'd in mine yet, but I do have a pretty boss fit for that role.

I was hunting for sick loot, but all I could get my hands on were 50 corpses[:|]..............[:=d]

Hyperion used to have 8 turrets not long time ago. THen it was MASSIVELy buffed, loosing 2 turrets but very powerful 10% damage bonus and 1 extra low slot.

Do not complain.. I would love if my 6 turreted tempest had same love that hyperion received.
