I write an eloquent and quite detailed opinion piece about the shortcomings of the Zealot vs. the Vagabond in Sansha DED plexes, and try to preview it. The forum tells me there is a draft of some old doc, and deletes everything I typed.

Now you fine forum-reading folk will never know the inner workings of my mind. Screw you, Eve Forum Software, screw you HARD!

The Eve forms will eat your post if you take more than a few minutes to type it. So far the only workaround I've found is CTRL+A, then CTRL+C. This way you have everything copied so WHEN.... not IF the forum eats your post you just press CTRL+A then CTRL+V.

That or use chrome and press backspace. The previous page will still contain what you typed in the form.

I've had that happen. However I later found that if a post I typed got eaten, I could load the draft and it would be an up to date copy of the post I just tried submitting, saving me from having to try and go back or needing to copy/paste.

Haven't used this in a while but it used to work fine. I'm considering reinstalling it after few EVE forum incidents ...

I apparently have no idea what I'm doing.

OP what were your conclusions? the vagabond has ideal resists but I'm guessing fails in the DPS and projection department? I haven't had much opportunity to go up against sansha explo stuff in my time, so I'd be interested in your thoughts. Similarly I haven't flown the vaga since it got rebalanced.

I used to do this, but the draft feature seems to work pretty well so I don't bother anymore. Haven't lost a post in awhile, and I can be wordy.

Ok so how do I use the draft feature? I don't see a drafts subsection. What am I missing?

Basically, to summarize my original post, I find the Vagabond to be the superior ship by far. The only benefit the Zealot has is a 10km range with Scorch Pulse over a Vaga with ACs. The Vaga is faster, more agile, has a more comfortable high-EM shield tank than the Zealot armor tank, and puts more damage (about 125 dps more) and has absolutely no tracking problem applying that damage to elite frigate targets at full 1000ms+ speed. The faction EMP ammo may be a little pricier than M Scorch, but certainly not enough to warrant flying the slower, sluggish, laser platform. Is it possible I'm doing something wrong with the Zealot?

Write long post. Click preview or post - > entire post vanishes. But a little popup in the bottom right of the text box says you have a draft saved (it does so automatically, unless its a forum profile setting). click "draft" and the last saved draft reappears, perhaps minus the last half of the last sentence you wrote. Then click post again and it posts.

I doubt you're doing anything wrong with the zealot, unless you're overtanking it. The ship has a number of natural disadvantages for this use. Lack of drones, a worse natural resist profile, lower speed, cap-using guns, and no tanking bonus are the big ones. If you're closing to the same ranges that the vaga is to get good dps, I would expect the zealot to pull ahead when using multifrequency crystals.

You make a good point I didn't take into consideration. I went from missles (full damage over the full range), to projectiles (fighting in falloff) and didn't really modify my fighting style to take into account getting the pulse lasers into optimal range. I'll have to check that out. Am I better off using multifreq than scorch?

its a laser boat with instant crystal switching. Use both.
