I really enjoy the new exploration. The hacking game adds a level of difficulty to hacking that did not exist previously. Some people may whinge that scanning is to simple or whatevere but honestly Its not less difficult now than it was before the changes; just a little less fiddly thats all.

Taking away the fiddly scan probe interface and replacing it with the current, more user friendly, interface is a great change and one thats bound to stay wether you like it or not.

Don't disagree with that, but the hacking game is not a layer of difficulty, it's very simple and tedious, which is why every pilot now carries a cargo scanner to avoid the tedium of hacking valueless cans.

Before Odyssey - fight rats for the right to open cans - relax with a whisky and one eye on D-Scan while you collect loot. Reward amply justified effort over a period of time.
After Odyssey - race around at high speed - quickly click lots of buttons and race off to the next can. Rewards seem to satisfy new explorers and hyperactive younger pilots.

Exploration used to be a real 'Experience' with a sense of discovery, danger and reward.

but really...exploration has been made basically tard mode. all that aside...the only thing that really chaps my ass about the changes is that ore sites can just be warped to by any scum now. I spent time and effort in skills for exploration for those sites. now dirty mongrels of all assortions can just pile in.

this situation is doubly intolerable because I live in a wormhole...not only does it suck that you get basically zero warning if some cloaky ***** wrinkle decides to go looking for the procurer on dscan...and there is one ore site...but now invaders can just come along with no effort at all. before you'd see probes on scan and know something was amiss. but that's not the worst of it...the worst is that they can trigger all the sites with impunity...which can sometimes go days and days before seeing any new ones after they despawn timer is reached.

Odyssey has impacted negatively in many areas. All my ships are named "OdysseyF****myGame"

I liked the odyssey changes as t2 rigs finally became cheap enough to fit them on frigate and destroyer hulls without bloating the price of the kill mail beyond reason (plz shoot me).

It's looking like Exploration is simply taking on multiple levels and what we know as exploration now is the starter mode.

Exploration for sure got more dirty than before, and by "dirty" I mean a 1 day old char can do that, to the point it became disturbing...

A story not long ago:
I mean you are peacefully sitting in your shiny POS in your awesome wormhole preparing to do sites or go raid your neighbors, to suddenly find an alert: PROBES IN SPACE GO FIND THAT DUDE!.
You go looking around to find the less than a month old "dude" is sitting next to a wormhole UN-CLOAKED in his T1 exploration ship... a fast ship warp to take him out... and HE IS STILL IN HIS PLACE, did not cloak up, did not even jump out... NOTHING!.
Shot his ship... Ok he will notice us now... O.o WTF he is still there with his pod!
Poped the pod! NOW he WILL notice us.
--

It might be simple, but it for sure annoying and distracting to suddenly make 3 or 4 people go around and kill people who don't know even what they should do when they enter a wormhole, it was a lot different than now before Odyssey, but we got to live with it now.

I agree!
They should make it so that there are connecting wh's from one wh area to another so that you get a chance to find more sites.

I also totally agree with this man.
People shouldn't be able to even find wormholes until they are at least a year old much less enter them.
New players should be forced to mine or mission for at least that long. Roll

If you dislike them for sucking in your precious loots, buy a gun and shoot them. Explorers generate surprising amount of content, and I'm starting to see what CCP did there - in null, they literally put the money on the table and people flocked to it as they should to any high-income source.

In turn, others started hunting them and conflict began, generating content for both the hunters and the hunted. And, to make it better, hunters tend to be rewarded for a successful kill with staggering amounts of loot that sometimes drop. Well played CCP, well played.

I might agree on the fact that it's too easy to do those sites with a cheap T1 frig in nullsec, where things shouldn't really be that easy but I'd say ghost sites will fix that soon.

I also have not done this and have no plans to. Why? Because it's the same **** over and over again. You aren't exploring anything. You might as well be exploring your own house all day everyday. It's all the same. If I wanted single player spaceships, I'd go find myself a floppy drive and my old privateer disks. Make exploring something where you actually find new ****.

See Bio for isk doubling rules. If you didn't read bio, chances are you funded those who did.

i mostly do lo sec and its there that the exploration related PVP has collapsed. Also - I personally found exploration a mature and calming part of eve, it was slower paced and the PVP was more interesting. Now its a big rush, the sites can be cleared in a few minutes and more and more are left unharvested because of the loot value. It was an ART before and now it feels like a kids game.....to me anyways.

Welcome to EvE online's player driven economy. You can expect this sort of this to happen all the time. Best to adapt, roll with the punches and HTFU.

Or you could whine on the forums. That works too! Cool

And no, i don't live in highsec.  As if that would make your opinion any less wrong.

And for some reason I am compelled to protest about my local government's policy for handling wombats infested with mange (a wombat is a biological, self-mobile anti vehicle weapon system whose major contribution to society is ripping the suspensions off hoon mobiles)(mange, on the other hand, in an infestation of skin-burrowing insects). They shoot the wombats, then leave them to rot. This means that the mange/scabies have the opportunity to spread to other animals (other wombats, your dog, or even you).

So shooting the Feature isn't enough. You need to burn its mange-infested corpse too.
