Shoot the dog - Odyssey launch tears revisited.

There is something quite obscene now about a 4 Stab Magnate, grubbing around in a site for valueless data encryptors, that makes me want to kill the ship, the occupant, his family and his pet dog.

For truly, every man and his dog is out there 'exploring' , and this has depressed loot prices so much that even the StabMeisters are passing sites over in search of something 'valuable'

Scuse me for being a snob - but opening up exploration to the masses has DEVALUED not only the prices but the Noble Art itself.

To get the edge back - leave Odyssey update alone but put the AI rats back into ALL exploration sites. There are shed loads of unemployed rats doing sweet FA in asteroid belts all over New Eden, so why not give them a job?

This would sort the men from the boys and result in a smaller number of more determined explorers, values would rise & unused ships would be dusted off.

Exploration was made simpler to encourage more explorers ( fair enough) , but a harder environment is now needed.

I agree

It has made ganking "explorers" really easy

Eh, there's a pretty reasonable rate of return in 0.0 exploration in decent parts of null.

enjoyed the little null I have done, but jumping into 5 overlapping bubbles ruins my day - and possibly makes yours ?

Serpentis Chemical lab ( for example) needs a lot of DPS before hacking. But thats a big jump up from Zero rats elsewhere?

And only show cosmic signatures on the system scanner if the ship has a probe launcher fitted.

And increase the error margin for cosmic signatures to the level they would be using 1 DSP. What a joke, removing the DSP system inventory "because it's too good" only to give us the system scanner which locates every signature, leaving the "explorer" to simply drop a 2AU pinpoint formation on the desired signature.

Make all rats in ghost sites either Incursion Sanshas or Sleepers. Also make this change in some of the more "lucrative" hacking sites.

Your Stabbed Swagnate never stood a chance.

I HAVEN'T EITHER!!!

but really...exploration has been made basically tard mode. all that aside...the only thing that really chaps my ass about the changes is that ore sites can just be warped to by any scum now. I spent time and effort in skills for exploration for those sites. now dirty mongrels of all assortions can just pile in.

this situation is doubly intolerable because I live in a wormhole...not only does it suck that you get basically zero warning if some cloaky penis wrinkle decides to go looking for the procurer on dscan...and there is one ore site...but now invaders can just come along with no effort at all. before you'd see probes on scan and know something was amiss. but that's not the worst of it...the worst is that they can trigger all the sites with impunity...which can sometimes go days and days before seeing any new ones after they despawn timer is reached.
