Is CCP considering 5 characters per account?

1 plex to buy the slot
1 plex per month to train that extra slot
and 1 extra plex per month to allow you to play multiple characters on the same account at the same time.

PS Hit me up in game for pre IPO shares in the Jita-Amarr toll gate. (AUR charge to use this ofc, if it's a success there will be others, Jita-Rens, Rens-Dodoxie, etc)

There was noise from CCP some time back about merging accounts. Whether this meant merging Steam & CCP accounts so that you can do character trades with Steam accounts, or that you'll be able to merge your existing 8 accounts and simply have a bunch of login slots and training slots to use, remains to be seen.

Or it could be as simple as preparing to sell you extra character slots for PLEX.

From a players perspective definitely yes, as you cant log in multiple times with the same account.

Yeah sorry if it wasn't clear but I meant if you were allowed more than 1 active alt per account. Putting aside how this would be paid for (1 alt per-plex?)

And yeah, as has been mentioned, numbers look better presently.

Each login slot would be a subscription, really.

As it is, login slots (1 per account) has been somewhat separated from training queues (now 1, 2 or 3 per account).

However, if I have 2 accounts, I can't login characters besides one from each account at the same time. A "mega account" would probably be worse as some people would only want two login slots, but many alts. Whereas for three alts, you are gonna need at least 1 subscription (industry alts, PI alts and cyno alts probably don't need to all be logged in at once).

Also, I can't currently train 4 characters but only have 1 login slot. I must have two. *shrug*

To put it another way: suppose CCP just said "you can have as many characters per account as you like"?

No problem at all, but some kind of mechanism would have to be put in place so that you can log in with characters from the same account. Maybe make it so that all actively training characters are allowed to log in simultaneously.

Would be interesting to see what that would do with subscription numbers, since you'd get a very clear picture of actual people playing the game. 1 account = 1 person instead of the 1 person = 7 accounts we have going right now.

Would give a lot more flexibility to those of us who want to train large amounts of toons without ever having to pay for them.

Tell me again about how every playstyle you dont engage in "doesn't require any effort" and everyone who does it needs to die in a fire. Be sure to mention about how you tried it once but it was too easy/boring/ethnic-homophobic slur.
