I can and will attest to the volume of persons being transported by DSTON, and to the voluntary nature of their transport.

I find this rather preposterous! I have never seen such a thing as “squalor” in the Kingdom.

Just because you have not personally seen or experienced a thing, does not mean it does not exist.

In the implied quantity though?

I still fiercely find your numbers disbelieving.

Oh gods, are you slavers as naïve as you pretend to be? Go to any of the ten Khanid Transport Storage stations in the Kingdom. They won't attempt to hide the conditions; the pens of slaves in the ready around the debarkation hangars. If then you still want to define squalor as something else then go on. I've spent the last several months living in the Kingdom and there is without a single doubt appalling squalor in the slave markets in these stations where a third of a million slaves at a time await sale. Go, see it for yourself, then come back here and talk about how happy these slaves are in their present conditions.
I can see nothing but scurvy propaganda and disinformation in your remarks.

I would certainly not go to the slave markets myself. But this morning I sent two of my house slaves to one of the bigger trade fairs in Agil. They assured me that the conditions were sterling and no needs for any complaints were given. Everyone was cheerful and bright.

Remarkably unremarkable. That is what I would use to describe my few days on observational tour of Black Rise around Okagaiken. If anything was even remotely suspicious it was the singular lack of activity. One cyno and one gathering of a single group of corporation pilots of six or more was it. A short trip into Goon territory was uninteresting. Other than the usual resident combat pilots waiting for the odd prey, there was little to see. This may change, but for now we are recalling the DSS Assist back into high security space.

Thank you Manwe for taking patrols for me for a couple days. Lives were saved. The crew of the Redemption was right on top of things as usual. I did notice that you were unusually wordy in your reports. We should have coffee sometime when you are back in the area.

DSS Mayflower is back on patrol with a fresh crew rotation. I was good to sit down to supper last night with some of the Kaap residents. I'm told that it is near time again to transport slavers to Yulai. We've noted lately that there are more slavers accompanying slaves on the illegal trade routes across the borders. This also means there are more slavers to rescue when things go bad with unscrupulous pilots and they end up in death cans with the slaves they had planned to sell.

In other news; we have also made the decision to open a second service dog training center due to consistent numbers of slaver hounds being rescued. This also enables us to train the dogs without unneeded transportation time. The new center opened today with 612 dogs being trained as cadaver dogs, drug sniffers, assist dogs for the blind, for those with seizure disorders, etc.

Never ask for an honest answer unless you are really prepared to receive it; especially from an honest person. I ask Poway our crew chief aboard the DSS Safe harbor, "Give me a true answer, am I boring?" Her response: "Um, um, hrmm, in a good way."

What? Boring in a good way. Just what I wanted to hear. She added a proviso to her statement that brought the issue home. "This work needs 'boring' or it would never be done. Capsuleers generally don't do what you do." Woot Woot for boring.

Thirty five slavers were transported today over to Yulai before we resumed normal patrols. I took the DSS Safe Harbor under the capable crew leadership of Poway. Besides being crew chief, she also helps us train new crew members. She has excellent evaluation skills and just a sense of who will work, who will not and who will team up well. In the first patrol run out afterwards, 2 more slavers were rescued with a group of slaves and hounds destined for mine work subcontracted in State territory.

Many young men and women and some that are not so young are now completing their remedial educational programs in our centers and now pondering the decision to move on to high academic or vocational training. It is exciting to see the collective energy of people pondering and planning for the future. We know that much good will be generated by these as they set a course through the future. These are exciting and optimistic days.

Rescue work continues.

From time to time I encourage pilots to stop wherever they are, in whatever region and sovereignty they find themselves, and check the regional markets and note that slaves are for sale most everywhere. In the State, in the Republic, in the Federation, in the Empire (of course), in the Khanid Kingdom (especially). Even in the small pockets of space administered by Concord and the SOE, there are slaves for sale. How did they get there? They were smuggled in illegally. It isn't rocket science. DSTON is often accused of breaking the law. Well yes, that is how we transport those we rescue to our Matriculation Centers outside of the Empire or Kingdom. We have never tried to deny that.

Many of those on their way to the human trafficking markets outside of the Empire or Kingdom, find themselves dumped in deathcans when pilots lose their nerve at border crossings. That is where we hope to find ourselves to rescue them. Whether it be 5 as below or 500 or even just 1, we will rescue them.

We also remind pilots that we will receive into our centers, any seeking refuge. We rescue and/or receive slavers, militants, soldiers, tourists ad even animals that have been abandoned to die in space.

Is there a preoccupation with violence among capsuleers? I think there is. Yesterday, we confiscated two 1400mm siege cannons from a can while checking it for survivors. The registered owner as well as one the pilots below, used the public biography space as a self-reminder of how to most efficiently destroy different race or faction ships. There is something ironic about using a space tagged with "biography" to spell out options of violence.

Let's find better pre-occupations.

It's not so much a pre-occupation as an actual occupation.

Like it or not we were created to service engines of destruction. That's still a large part of what pays a Capsuleer's bread and butter.

For the first time since I started the conversation, he looks me dead in the eye. In his gaze are steel jackhammers, quiet vengeance, a hundred thousand orbital bombs frozen in still life.

The DSS Mayflower was at the right place at the right time and the circumstances of this rescue were in our favor. First, all four deathcans were in gate range of each others. This allowed for one trip to rescue all the occupants. Second, we arrived in time, before the cans disintegrated. Below are listed all the groups divided among the deathcan owners listed.

Rescue Report:

115.10.22 12:33 Anton Klimovets, DDizel, Sharkishi, Masto Lortht (Groups: 20 Militants, 1 Oura Madusaari, 5 slavers, 5 slavers, 4 hounds, 7 hounds, 25 former slaves, 26 former slaves, 40 former slaves, 4 stranded pilots, 10 units of dairy products, 10 units of wheat)

Agreed that the capsuleer was originally "created" as a cog in the engine of war. But... let us never take the idea of being originally created for something as helplessness. Any tool, once envisioned for one purpose can evolve to service another. Especially the capsuleer, being a volitional being, ought to evolve to purposes beyond the base motivations of her warring creators. We must evolve beyond violence. Violence must become a mere evolutionary vestige of the long past, barely remembered. We must evolve beyond petty nationalism, cultural centrism, racism, sexism. Let this current culture of violence and destruction become a fading transitional form on the history to a time when we are one human community and the word "foreigner" loses its meaning.

The Capsuleer with all the ability to assimilate knowledge, skill, and technology, could be an instrument of such production, peace, and good. Violence does not have to be our bread and butter. Providing bread and butter for all humanity ought to be our modus. The prevention of violence and destruction ought to be our modus. Let the technology now tuned for destruction, be retuned for construction. Let the technology now tuned for killing be retuned for healing. Let the technology now tuned for subjugation be retuned for service.

Let the evolution commence with our individual volition to make our next choice non-violent.

Hypothetically, if someone wanted to buy these rescued figures to integrate them back into the appropriate channels, who would they need to reach out to in negotiating an arrangement for these rescued slaves?

One of the bedrock values of the Matriculation Program of DSTON is that absolutely under no circumstances will we ever sell those who have been rescued or have come into our program by other means. Never again will any of those former slaves or any other individuals be sold to anyone for any purpose.

Now, as far as integrating... The DSTON Matriculation program is so named because it is a holistic program designed to do just that. Through education, community development, vocation, holistic health care, etc. Matriculants are prepared for re-integration into society.

The sale of any Matriculant is strictly out of the question.

I'll be planning a trip soon to Ation and our center there. Now and then we encounter female survivors in deathcans who mysteriously contract some sort of space sickness that causes the delusion that they are some sort of space character named Oura Madusaari. We have several lodging in our therapy wing in Ation. They seem quite content to exist in their ongoing fantasy life. Our therapists have attempted a number of methods to connect them with reality but nothing seems to stick. We have researched the lore but have not determined the mental triggers that cause this ailment. The 22nd was a busy rescue day.

OK I'm sorry but leaving violence in the past, bad idea. The Minmatar tried that and look what happened when the Amarr rolled in (no offense to the Matari here). We should always be prepared to fight and be better at fighting than everyone else.
