Metaphorically speaking and partially influenced by my Asian cultural heritage, I myself would associate in a more or less subjective and partly subconscious way, some of the the various categories of clashes, as follows:

Battleship vs. Battleship:
"US SUMO OPEN Byamba vs Kelly with Slow Motion BOUNCE 2013 SUMO TV" (Youtube)
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9YIZgsCSAD4

(no disrespect meant here towards those flying battleships or so...)

(Battle)Cruiser vs. (Battle)Cruiser:
"bruce lee vs. chuck norris" (YT)
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JLO1YIWQuXE

Frigate vs. Frigate (the brawlings):
"eXtreme Fight Scenes-Martial arts"(YT)
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vZX4Z5HvnnI

Drone attacks:
"Many wasps attacking a man"
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=p-g69uf-Hek

Proxy infiltrations of Corporations?!:
"Curse of Chucky - Film Clip - What's for Dinner" (YT)
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4RnV2Pszu3s

or even:

"The Thing [2011] Split Face Scene" (YT)
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zcNwKBPE7Rg

And see how gate gankers may impact the psyche of "balanced" citizens:
"Psycho 'Barking Dog Man' on the News" (YT)
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BR6DaBawsZISmile

Any other associations worth of some reflections?

Whatever happened to spending time reading a great Science Fiction novel ?

Entertaining and insightful enough. Gets my +1 of approval.

There's real reasons why your Eve character doesn't do /dance.

....but that coin has two sides: there are very many tragic examples of persons being succesful on forums (having many digital 'likes") who at the same time totally fail in rl (i.e. not receiving the "likes" from any partners, business connections etc).
Look, we live in a flashy time with fast info exchange made possible by multi-media etc. all quite suffient and fast info exchange imo. So, fully going for reading books as you advocate(???) is realy oldfashioned imo. And women do certainly not like any partners reading all the time all kinds of books instead going out etc....What?

Just a kind advise: beware becoming some dark age munk as those portrayed in the movie "The name of the rose". Ever seen it?

Indeed, the book was much better.
Still, love the video clips.

...and about the "dangers" encountering pirates in low-sec(!?)...imo to be associated most of the times in entertaining ways like this:

"Crocodile Dundee - That's not a knife" (Youtube)

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sLS3RGesIFQ

So, just go in there from time to time and keep an eye open for the funny/entertaining parts

...& after the fightings & skirmishes, associate your entrance claiming a fresh conquered solar system as this....("resistance is futile...you will be assimilated")

"Kill Bil Vol. 1 - The Arrival of O-ren Ishii and the Crazy 88's at "The" (YT)

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sYq_Jpxdq2A

...something like that, I guess?!?Smile

Sorry I entirely don't get this

OP lost me when he compared Chuck Norris to a battlecruiser.

That mother ******* better be a T5 battlecruiser with Titan HP and 8 Doomsdays with AOE damage, because if Chuck Norris finds out you compared him to a drake, we will ******* find you.

Since the cessation of their usefulness is imminent, may I appropriate your belongings?

This depressing comment I do not like!

What is there to understand? Just some fun! I liked the scene Crocodile Dundee much, and in this case good for making an entertaining association. Second scene is about the association battles & entertainment. Thus, all realy positive.

Look, I know you must be some depressed US-moderator doing this for a living. But, do not forget that people like me are not like you, we are cheerful most of the time and we are here from time to time for entertainment! So please do not bring your personnal RL problems to my threads. Thank you....Cry

That novel, it's author Umberto Eco, and the film with Connery are all faves of mine. Smile

And anyway, it's "monk". You need to do some more reading.

The Name of The Rose is set in 1327 (recognised as The Middle Ages, or Medieval Land)

Not the Dark Ages (@500-1000AD)

Yes, you're right about "monk". Being West-European I sometimes make the English grammar mistakes. The movie I have seen, real good acting there (especially by Sean Connery) and story is ok. Book of course would be better, no doubt, however I cannot bring myself to reading it, since I do not realy like the way people lived in the Dark Ages, very depressing times those must have been. And then the terrible inquisitors (...guess McCandless would have fitted in there perfectly? Big smile)
