Where did I say that the OP was dumb or that I knew what he was talking about?

I actually posted I have no idea what he is talking about.

My comment about people not understanding was in response to your post regarding the other thread, and I still stand by my comment that people have no idea about how re-sellers, affiliates and Somerblink work, which can also been seen in this thread as well Big smile
I need more coffee.
No.
I need less coffee!

I am so confused. :(

Let's see how this gets resolved.

Star Citizen is a different type of game. Similar, yes. But not entirely the same.

Just like Civilization V is a different game than StarCraft. Similar, yes. But ultimately a different game.

Using that example: EVE is more like an actual 4X game with literal real-time stuff happening. Star Citizen seems more like a fast paced RTS where clicks per minute win the day.

No thank you on the latter form.

EVE will never die.

Thank you.

Yes, please, CCP, start to create expansions which worth at least 10 bucks. People are ready to pay $50 even for a couple implants + a tattoo.

I have removed some rule breaking posts and those quoting them. As always I let some edge cases stay.
Please people, keep it on topic and above all civil!

The rules:
5. Trolling is prohibited.

Trolling is a defined as a post that is deliberately designed for the purpose of angering and insulting other players in an attempt to incite retaliation or an emotional response. Posts of this nature are disruptive, often abusive and do not contribute to the sense of community that CCP promote.

I would like to go on record before this thread is locked that I like CCP. I also disagree with the OP on multiple points. That is all.

I have reread the OP post several times. I find it very cryptic with no clear message or point which is quite unusual since it is my job to figure out cryptic stuff.

Um, so what exactly is he complaining about? Is he complaining? With all the talk of getting free stuff from others I got the impression he was toasting Mintchip and wants to be just like her.

Curious now, CCP says they have 500,000 subs to eve. That is accounts not players. But that really does not matter to this debate. Just clarification.

What I am wondering for future reference, does CCP count all subs ever created in that 500,000 number or are they only counting active subs?

Next question then is if they are only counting active subs, what constitutes an active sub?

Is it they count all active subs as those that are paid up?

I ask this because the number of subs ONLINE is displayed every time you log onto eve.

At peak times it reaches about 45,000-50,000 subs online. That is only 10% of the total sub base.

So at any time about 90% of the paid subs are not playing.

And in the future when SC goes online how will these numbers react?

Maybe a lot of subs stay active as in players update the skill queue so the 500,000 sub number stays the same, but the subs online show a lower number of subs online at any given time. Less players in game but still maintaining their accounts.

Techincally, that is good for CCP the money still comes in, maybe even more money as players with multiple accounts need to be active to plex them, so if they are not active enough to plex but want to keep them active they instead become paid subs.

However if fewer players are in game what happens to the eve experience?

Well we have probably 2 years and a bit more to go before this happens. So pleanty of time to speculate.

That's a lot of really dumb questions and lame suppositions.

But try this. Unsub and see if the numbers change when you go inactive.
