Free the slaves

Sometimes you shoot up some bad people and find slaves in their cargo. I don't want them to float in space, so I take them. But when i arrive in a station, i cannot set them free. I can only destroy them. I think the destroy option should be replaced by a free them option.

sell them back to the amarrians Twisted

One of the bitter points of a good bittervet is the realisation that all those SP don't really do much, and that the newbie is having much more fun with what little he has. - Tippia

That gives an entirely different meaning to "Live free or die".

Been posted a million times before but still. Easy enough change that would be amusing at least.

I would think it is easy indeed. But else they could make an agent, who will take slaves and return LP or cash. Also not too difficult.

It's actually not that easy. It would also add a check every time you right clicked on something to check and see if they were slaves. I understand the moral ugliness of not wanting to trash them, but it would create code inefficiencies.

Might I suggest an alternative. Make it so that the Minmatar and Gallente will buy them with the explicit understanding that they are just rewarding you and they will free them after you 'sell' them for the reward.

Why not sell them to the DUST bunnies. I'm sure all these planets that now have colonies for a game station console that I don't have and therefore can't play could probably use them. Heck - build them into the story line. I'm sure the last thing we need is a station full of people looking for handouts (oh wait - sorry - we already have that - its called Jita).

For that matter there is opportunity here for Janitors and others to be put to good use. Maybe have an active employment service option where you can put militants to work defending PI colonies and slaves to rebuild production facilities if they get attacked. We could use all the frozen corpses to feed colonists on planets incapable of producing livestock or bacteria (Solent Blue?) or something to do with all those trade good stuffs like milk that keep showing up in salvage.

Finally a good use for all this stuff that is cluttering my item hangar. :)

Make them into (the long rumored) crew.

Also a good way.

This would be the easiest way to solve the problem, I think. Simply add a few agents like the datacenter agents, just taking slaves instead of tags. Good for standing + LP or something.

It would even work lore-wise:

Gallente, Minmatar: They take the slaves to free them.
Amarr: They reward you for bringing the slaves back to them.
Caldari: They reward you so they can sell the slaves back to the Amarr.

Case closed!

I'm pretty sure there isn't a check for plex for every click, but it has other options. It shouldn't be too difficult.

Well, if we all agree. CCP, we have decided. Will only cost you a couple of hours and we won't have this topic return. Tnx.

Oh there's probably a check for every time you have a PLEX, but CCP makes money from that so they're willing to take the hit. They could put people into a special category. It's not so much that it's a lot of developer hours, but an additional pass in the client to built the menu options for people. I'm not (or shouldn't be) suggesting that it's some crazy amount of effort. I'm just trying to suggest it's non-trivial work for a very low priority item. I would like to see a change as well. I'm just trying to explain that it may not be as simple as all that and that we shouldn't get pissed off if it doesn't happen for awhile.
