an issue with war-dec and criminal system

the war declaration system has a minor flaw in it
when combined with the crime watch

Corp A can declare war on Corp B... no problem

when Corp A engages Corp B... they call in Corp C, D, E to provide logistical support

this flags Corp C, D, and E as criminals for a short period

this allows "neutral" corps to actively engage in supporting war-dec's to a certain degree for long periods of time with out having to pay the general fees that go along with a declaration of war.

possible solution:

any Corp that unlawfully engages in supporting another Corp in an authorized war receives a criminal flag on those members that participated for a 24 (or longer) hour duration (or possibly the entire corp receives criminal flag)

Now THIS would NEVER be abused....nobody would EVER

Alt Corp A wardecs Alt Corp B

Spy Corp C helps Alt Corp B, thus flagging the entire corp

At which point Main Corp A, B, C, D proceed to gank all undocked prey in Spy Corp C's corporation.

Other then all that, it's also just a way to keep a free wardec going.

Lowering the average to make you look better since 2012.

spying is one thing.. that is gathering intel on possible targets of opportunity, no issues with that

having a small fleet of logistics from corp C that are not part of the war jump in to support corp A

and corp B not being able to do anything about it until corp C becomes criminal flaged and even then, they are only able to do something about it for a very short window.. yes, corp B could also then wardec corp C.....

however Corp C should be punished for its illegal activities of using a loop hole in the system to avoid paying fees to concord to authorize them to engage in concord sanctioned warfare thus concord should criminal flag them for 24 hours at a minimum.

And what happens when I wardec myself with an altcorp, go incursion running with the relevant agression flags active, and get all of the incursion logis criminal flagged for helping me?

ahhh I see what you are saying

is there no way in the code to determine if player A is illegally assisting player B who is attacking player C in a legal war and thus flagging player A as criminal beyond the 15 min or what ever it is time limit?

How woul;d it tell the differance between player A, who was helping out someone under a genuine wardec, and player D, who had the same aggression flags from an altcorp wardec?

so the problem comes down to code issues

the simplification of the code for the crime watch is actually hindering a possible fix for this loop hole

while I agree with the "your a criminal, everyone can shoot you" , I feel there needs to be a fix for this round about way that wars are fought in game.
