IdeaIdeaIdeaOwn ingame chat messages should be shown in different color!
IdeaIdeaIdeaAlso nicks could be in some other color too!

This would really help to keep track on dozens of fast scrolling chat windows while updating market orders and griefing newbies and/or multitasking some other stuff!

Its probably easy to not see the usefulness of this feature but I am sure that everyone would love it and it can't surely be too hard to implement.

IdeaIdeaIdea Please consider doing something about the f11 mapbrowser. Most people seem to find it fairly useless in its current state. I am not exactly sure what should be done with it but I am sure that there is a lot of room for improvement!

OopsOopsOops Doubleclicks should be ignored while targeting stuff with ctrl+click. (They cause your ship to move to random direction and you'll notice it before its too late). THIS IS VERY ANNOYING PLEASE FIX IT!!! Can't be that hard! Just one line of code!

IdeaIdeaIdea Add some better indicator that would make it easier the see the direction where your ship is moving. That would help especially when zoomeed far away.

IdeaIdeaIdea Option to reverse the mousewheel zoom direction!

Mine might not be a little thing...but here goes:

Orca

Allow for customization of the cargoholds (setup)

Right now she has 3 basic holds
Ore
Main Cargo
Corp Cargo

And of course the luxurious ship maintenance bay

What I suggest is that we be able to customize the layout ie: change the configuration so that I could add or remove space from each of the holds

You could have some sort of formula that trades one type of hold to create another......it would not be take 50,000 m3 ore and convert to 50,000m3 corp but perhaps subtract a percentage from that for "conversion"

You could also use this as an ISK sink or AUR sink by charging for the customization, if this week i need Orca an uber hauler then its $X.XX amount of ISK or AUR to reconfigure. Next week I want storage to move more ships then $X.XX amount to configure.

You could also install this as a job - since we know that getting out the welding tools will take time, perhaps a refit time - a week maybe longer depending on what you are doing, and of course we would have to pay for the shipyard time as my precious is being refitted..........

Another down side to the reconfig (trying to get balance) is that changes to the basic configuration (lets call it Stock Orca) mean that she is not the hull tank she currently is - ie: for each % of change there is a corresponding loss on the armor and hull HP. Meaning that your uber hauler becomes more of a house of cards (making it a more lucrative target).

I find this to be one of the most useful ships in EvE.....it has many purposes which I find very handy, its almost a "mid sized" freighter which BTW is missing.

now lots of people have been asking for a Pony or a Kitty.....maybe even a Puppy. Empress wants a mid Sized Providence for Xmas - give it a 250-400K size hold.....a bit more agility and speed......god forbid maybe a fitting or two......and I promise to jump up and down with joy Twisted

Thank you CCP

It makes no sense that a frigate takes as long as a battleship to switch ammo.
10 seconds in a frigate fight is an eternity, in a battleship fight it's not too significant.

It would be great if the reload time was reduced to 2.5 seconds for small weapons and 5 seconds for medium weapons so that switching ammo types in the middle of a fight can be worth it, depending on the situation.

Ability to mute persistent sounds.

I like guns firing I like dmg sounds...but the ability to drastically turn down the sound of shield hardners or other persistanty running mods I want to turn it off.

didn't go thru 34 pages. so here are mine and sorry if it's repeated :)

GAMES

- POS Lab: we should have a option to group them for each type of slot. having 3 POS in the same systeme with 30 labs, going thru each one to find a vacant spot is kind of an hassle.
- whisper in chat could be nice, instead of having to start a private convo each time.
- set destination from the menu on the contract package
- dock from the menu on the contract package
- complete contract from the menu on the contract package in the ASSET windows.
- Speaking of asset, a force refresh could be nice, instead of having to undock or go to the search windows.

FORUMS:

- did I miss something or there's no way to go to the first new post on a thread?
- the blue/red arrow for GM/CCP should be clickable to get to the first related post.

API:

- Red Frog Freight would like to be able to pull data from contract completion from january 1st, but only 1 time. (for our annual reports. ;) )

Dotlans evemaps have been a crucial part of the game for many people for a long time. Can CCP hire Wollari for his work to keep them going? Cool

Change F11 map browser to DOLTAN map layout instead of the tangled mess that you get from looking at the actual starmap. Real positions of stars are only necessary for planning jumps.

Let 'Set Destination' plan a route that takes friendly jumpbridges into account... maybe using a list somewhere on the interface that you can populate yourself or import an xml file to. Autopilot doesn't necesserally need to warp you to the JB because nobody uses autopilot in places where Jumpbridges get built unless they're utter morons.

Can we make friendly jumpbridges visible across a starsystem in the same way that gates are visible? Even make them all visible, as Jumpbridge networks aren't exactly highly classified due to being available to everyone in an alliance.

For jumpbridges and titans, please add the 'Jump' button to the Selected Item panel and circular menu? Why must we use the rightclick menu when they work the same as a gate?

Keyboard shortcut for "Open fuel bay" and "Enter starbase forcefield password".

Some way to find out the distance (in both LY and jumps) between two systems in-game while not being in either of them.

Dragging items to a POS silo when the silo doesn't have enough space still produces an error message, and doesn't split the stack (as dragging to a ship's cargohold or a container). I have bugreported this in April or so, and it got marked as a known issue "to be fixed soon".

Dragging a stack of guns on the fitting window should fit as many guns as the ship can fit, not just one. Fitting an 8-gun BS is a pain.

Bring back the name of the person who sent a broadcast to the broadcast window.

Allow me to "View Contents" of containers listed in the corporation assets window (as it works in personal assets).

Checkbox somewhere to disable the free ibis "gifts" I get when I dock in a station in a pod.

Highlight my orders in the market orders window.

"Give items" option for transferring items between alts or friends - just like you can give ISK. Maybe I don't have a contract slot left, or I just don't want to log back and forth between different charcters just to click "accept".

"You can not train this skill because another character "Alt McAlt" on this account is already training "Caldari Titan". Do you wish to pause this character's queue and start your queue now?"

Star map > Color stars by > My statistics > Systems I can currently jump to.

Character Information screen remembering which tab I had open last (Augmentations, Jump Clones, Combat Log, etc).

A readable numerical countdown for the session change timer.

When anchoring POS modules, scale the box-and-arrows interface when I zoom out (compare to the probing interface).

Numerical readout (possibly on mouse hover) of how long till a module deactivates. Obviously useful for modules with long timers, such as cynos or siege modules.

Notifications about contracts in EVEgate - contracts assigned to me, and my contracts accepted/completed.

Bookmark subfolders.

Unlimited client-side saved fittings (with an option to store 50 server-side and transfer between machines).

When adding a contact, allow me to assign label(s) to them in the Add Contact window.

In the contacts window, a filter to show contacts with no assigned labels.

In the ingame browser, do not remember URIs which returned a 404 - most likely typos.

Put the system information in a real window I can move around the screen. Same with the PI interface. I happen to have chat channels on the left side of the screen, and I need to minimize them every time I need to see this info.

Ability to change the few pre-set distances to right-click > warp to / orbit / keep at range to whatever I want.

Automatically insert digit group separating commas while entering a price/amount in the market order screen (i.e. without needing to tab out of the input area).

Cyno (more precisely jump-out and jump-in) effects colored by the racial isotope used.

Dear CCP Soundwave,
Please, create an easier/better UI for overheating modules.

As a full time PVPer,
I overheat modules during every fight.
During PVP battles, you are required to make lightening quick adjustments, and keep track of many things at once (Velocity, Transversal, Distance to target, HP, ammo, drones).

When i need to overheat my Warp Disruptor for example, when my target is about to exit my disrupt range, I have to carefully move my mouse to the tiny little button area to initiate overheat. Then the indicator that is active is quite subtle (from a green to a bright green). Then to deactivate it takes the same amount of effort. Spending the extra time and effort to overheat with this interface, and make sure it is working, costs valuable time on the battlefield. I want to be able to quickly and efficiently overheat my modules, without worry that in the time i spend overheating, I drift into warp scramble range, or let them slip out of my warp disrupt range.

I propose a slider interface on each module icon, sized maybe 40% of the module icon. A slider that is large enough to easily click/drag to the desired state of overheated / not overheated. This slider would have contrasting colors for each state: dull grey or green for normal, bright red/glowing/pulsing for overheated; allowing easy quick feedback of your modules status.

I realize many people would never use this interface that now takes up perhaps 40% of their module icon. So have a menu option to disable/simplify the overheat UI.

COST: This would probably take less than a day of one artist/designer's work, and nothing has to change as far as game mechanics or coding (except for the new option to disable the new UI).

BENEFIT: More efficient and deadly PVP all over EVE.

Thank you for your time, and please sincerely consider my proposal to update the overheat module UI,
-kyzzack

Here's some more thoughts

  • I also think the dotlan map layout or similar would be great. Similar to how the london tube map is so different from a real map.

  • I was discussing live events with a fellow dj and was thinking that in hi-sec space the ability to pay a fee to hire concord to oversee an event would be interesting.

  • Better sound options, including routing eve's sound output to a specified sound device, and more volume controls for different things / effects.

  • Pod upgrading.

  • A Concord List of Crimes that shows why someone has negative sec for RP purposes.

  • More civilian npc traffic in quiet systems.

  • When you move the centre point (because you're stretched across multiple monitors usually) it should also move the loading screens, messages, etc.

  • Moar new ships.. oh wait that's not a little thing.

For a little thing a sell-all function would be nice. Just a dump to all open buy orders in that station. No orders the item is skipped.

For a big thing... Tugs... yep, new ships... tugs. That'd be cool. A midpoint between transports and freighters.

Hey, CCP Soundwave. My wish list for this xmas:

    A couple of small ones:

    • Batch actions for everything that is repetitive

      • Select all modules + Fit to ship: Prioritize by fitting requirements, high to low, and leave what was impossible to fit on the hangar with a warning message.
      • Select all items + Sell: Window show should a table with the item name, quantity, price and availability (immediate, 1 day, 1 week, etc). User can mark a checkbox to include/exclude items from the sell order, like current reprocess window. Double click an item to open the current sell dialog for tweaking price and availability.
      • Select all blueprints + Install jobs. Installing one by one is annoying.

    And a big one:

    • No local player list in 0.0 (maybe remove from low-sec too). It's supposed to be risky, and having the list there makes it feels predictable. I'm listing here because it's relatively easy change in the game client I suppose, but impacts the game play greatly.

Agree, that's a big issue with a simple fix. The overheat button doesn't follow Fitt's law.

A better option should be a chord like Shift + Click a module to enable/disable overheat, since that's easier to do in a rush. Then make the overheating indicator clearer, it could turn from yellow (ready to overheat) to green (overheating). The red gauge for damage is pretty clear already.

Augmented drone production. Currently augmented drones are not used due to costs. They are more powerful than T2 drones but are so difficult to make that they cost way more than they are worth. If they were even 5x more expensive than T2 drones they might be worthwhile but as it stands they are way too expensive. Possibly increasing the bpc drop rate or making the bpc available in all areas of the game would solve the problem. As it stands now they are just collectors items.
