My humble suggestions in regards to the warp acceleration changes proposed in EvE Rubicon

After watching the press release I was really impressed with this idea, I think that making the warp acceleration speeds differ between ship classes will give a new depth to general maneuvering and combat around New Eden. I however think that simply making the ship classes simply differ based on their inherent warp speed would be rather "flat", rather I would suggest calculating a ships acceleration and deceleration on a ratio against the ships mass, inertia, and warp speed.
I believe this would give improved dynamics to the predefined ship classes in addition to nano and skirmish gangs whilst promoting new elements of game dynamics like the "Armor Honeycombing" skill.

Just my thoughts.

Just an observation, mass and inertia as basically the same thing. So basically you're saying to take mass into account. That said, sure, why not?

Maybe this will an iteration on the "Acceleration to Warp Speed" that we will see in expansions after Rubicon. As I understood it it is only just recently that they have "de-spaghettied" the code enough to be able to to do this change.

Give them time, let it bed in and see what comes but it's a solid idea OP. +1.

Oh and @Quintessen:

Inertia
Inertia is the resistance of any physical object to any change in its motion (including a change in direction). In other words, it is the tendency of objects to keep moving in a straight line at constant linear velocity, or to keep still.

Mass
In physics, mass is a property of a physical system or body, giving rise to the phenomena of the body's resistance to being accelerated by a force and the strength of its mutual gravitational attraction with other bodies.

i dig it.
each ship gets a certain acceleration factor X mass change of the ship. so if u are nano fit, you would go faster up too your warp speed.

how will this change if u have warp rigs on it? same acceleration up too max speed or will your acceleration be altered since warp speed is quicker?

i mean how will a malediction warp compared to a malediction with nanos in the lows compared to a malediction with 2 warp enhancers that goes 19.44 au?

some how being able to vanish off the field might be more important than when u land.

now we need a rig for increasing warp acceleration, not just top end.

By Christ you mad my head hurt there but all valid questions. Lol

Inertia and mass are both resistance to acceleration. They're just different ways of looking at the same thing.

I am more concerned about fleet warps.
I do not always want to be first on site with my frig...but fleet warps are fun to have...
I really hope they come up with a solution for this
( I would prefere fleet setting...every ship at own high speed or all according to slowest ship.)

This is correct, however I was merely referring to the "virtual" in-game values for a ships mass and inertia modifiers.
