Some way to quickly identify new pilots entering into a system and assess threat levels. I really miss the ability to quickly see who was new in system compared to who I had already checked out in local when the server didn't pull a avatar pic until you it was requested.

I would like to see..
- a better directional scanner interface.
-to be able filter notifications about damage etc. (drones,..), it is a bit funny, that sometimes, I need to have the log window opened (another window.. I soo miss them Big smile) to see my actual damage
- some fading notification history above the actual message would be cool too
- and please, if it is possible, copy warning icon about jammers etc., which are used on your ship, to some more visible place, so, you can immediately know, that you are actually jammed with this and this by ..., the current way of getting information about jammers etc., applied on your ship, is really confusing. It can be of course still handy to see those icons in the overview, but it would be good to see it also somewhere near the center ship ui Smile

Thanks! :)

Reconnect to drones if in drone control range. I often get disconnected and have to fly to my drones, put them back into the drone bay, and then launch them again. It's a pain... If they are my drones and they are in my drone control range, then I should be able to reconnect to them.

There are a lot of useless modules in the game but the one I would really like to see fixed is the Target Painter II

So the Tech I meta 4 is much better than the Tech II meta 5, can't you make a slight tweak to the Tech II module, especially given the larger activation cost? 31% sig radius bonus perhaps, for a quick win that fits between meta 4 and meta 6 ?

Exactly! Why some T1 is better than T2 I really wanna know! What?

1) Certain windows and chat channels (Local, Corp, Alliance, Militia and Incursion) are "special" in that they cannot be closed, but only minimized. This behavior extends to any channel or window that is part of a stack containing one of these channels, so if you want to prevent yourself from accidentally closing a given channel, you often throw it onto a stack with those special channels.

That's cool, and works well enough for the most part, but most people are only going to have two or three of those channels (Local and Corp, plus possibly Alliance or Militia). Sometimes we need more than 3-4 chat window stacks to keep things spread out enough, and having to re-open however many channels because you accidentally clicked the 'x' button instead of the '-' minimize button because the UI is inconsistent and allows two buttons with different behaviors to use in the same place on a window (on Local, Corp, etc. the corner buttons are arranged like [ o | - ], but on normal channels they're arranged like this [ o | - | x ]) is really annoying, and that doesn't even get into how laggy the UI is when opening and closing windows/tabs, let alone groups of them all at once.

tl;dr: Allow us to toggle the no-close behavior used by Local, Corp, Alliance, Militia and Incursion channels for any channel the player wants.

An alternate solution would be to make it so that we cannot close pinned windows/stacks without unpinning them first. If I've pinned a window to make it stop moving around, I probably don't really want to close it either. Blink

2) The ability to force a refresh of a character's portraits. With the way the EVE client's cache works, it's not uncommon to have three different portraits for the same character, if they've made a number of portrait changes in a short amount of time. This command would allow the player to flush all portraits for that character, and then fetch the current ones from the server.

3) The ability to view a channel's MOTD without having to leave the channel and join it again. Operators and channel owners can just open the channel settings interface, but the rest of us are not so fortunate in popular/active channels. This could either be done by opening a small window that displayed the MOTD, or by just displaying the MOTD in the channel window again as if the player had left and rejoined the channel.

1. When an asteroid is locked you get an icon in the top right-ish part of the screen. Well when right clicking those icons how about adding the option to "mine" and "Mine repeatedly" for mining drones.

Erik Finnegan wrote:
Orbit/keep at range settings stored per fitting. Or allow defining those preset values.

2. and This

3. and lastly more of a bug in my eyes ALT-Click to 'Look At' is acting strange. Sometimes it jumps back to your own ship instantly, sometimes you cannot zoom all the way in (as if your own ships maximum zoom level is applied to the object your trying to view). If you are viewing one object then ALT-Left Click a 3rd object to view it your camera view instantly jumps to the object you want to look at then to your own ship then back to the object your are currently viewing. It is a bit silly

4. Being able to reduce the chat window input box to one line high rather than two lines high. Might not sound like much but it takes up a lot of valuable screen space.

Thanks soundwave, I should be able to think of a few more.

7) This is incredibly insipid, but when your pod bursts, rather than simply showing a loading bar and acting as if I just activated a clone jump whilst in the middle of space, the screen should flicker, flash, go dark and silent, and then slowly and blurrily fade back in.

This is one of many 'Transition' effects I'd like to see replacing the loading bars and black screens that are presented during session changes.

The team doing the effects have been doing a great job, so I'd like to hand them some more work (after they fix things like Sensor boosters and ECCM effects).

Jump through a gate and everyone sees the splash of spacetime, but from your point of view you should seespace ripple around you and watch your ship drop into a hole in the fabirc of the universe.

Also, the ships in the middle of any 'splash' from jumping in and out shouldn't simply fade, they should scale down to invisibly small as they recede into the little wormhole they just created, extra points comes from redshifting the colours on the ship. Similarly , arriving on the other side should show the ship scaling up in size as it emerges from the warped pocket of spacetime it's riding in. This scaling effect can happen very quickly to maintain visual impact.

The blackscreen while docking and undocking can be filled with generic flying in/out of hangar using existing assets. Purely visual of course, the animation wouldn't actually stop you fitting your ship.

While we're at it, the ship destroyed -> disappears -> explosion created transition needs some working on.

Anyway, not really top of my list, but since you're doing such a good job.

Let me store more ship fittings! 50 ship fittings as a limit is a bit tough on some of us that like to fly a LOT of different ship types. It's all on my client-side anyway!

I agree with the "make Caldari a viable fleet option" theme of many others. I wanted to fly a Caldari purist pilot, but that's not really an option if I want to fly in 0.0 fleets.

sounds small but wtf is with the warping at the speed of light with a rocket engine always been about?

i can understand the sub-light speeds, burning around on grid with ur rocket styled engines or something of that nature but plz god, dont make me try and buy the increased fire out the back is an increase in speed by over 1 million times!

im not talking bout a massive flash from some god awefull nacelles or stuff ripped from other sci-fi stuff, but at least de-couple the warp drive from the AB and MWD u use in pvp.
Im sure theres art guys who'd love to add a bit more dynamic lights and lighting patterns to the ships ;)

If you take the time to read the official explanation of how FTL travel is possible in EVE, you'd know that the effects are right on. The premise is that there's an active system on the ship that initiates when warp is entered, and it removes all particles from in front of and around the ship (including photons, and one would assume neutrinos as well, etc). So there is no more resistance to keep the ship from going faster, which means it can keep accelerating.

the lore about warp is that it throws the ship 90 degrees out of phase with the rest of the universe, and therefore when warping to things peoples lock breaks on your ship cause it suddenly appears to not exist, plus it explains how a ship can fly straight through a planet and not either insta-die or carve a tunnel straight through the planet causing it to insta-die.

whether it removes particles in front of the ship or not, space is space cause its got a **** ton of it between particles, what ur saying is that typical engines struggle to get ships through space normally cause of mass between the ship and its destination.
Eve isnt an aquatic adventure game m8, its a space sim! go look up what a hard vacuum is, where it tends to occur and then come back.

Allow me to set price and location parameters on my quickbar market items/folders and then a 'buy all' for applicable items within folders. This would really speed up the fitting process and tie in nicely with the new fitting to quickbar export.

Allow me to copy/duplicate more than 5 bookmarks at a time. I understand you did this for lag reasons, but is there any way to just give it a really low priority so that I could copy sets of 1500 bookmarks all at once and then leave for a few hours while the server did its thing?

Directional Scanner improvements to make it easier to teach and demonstrate how to use the D-Scanner

#1 D-Scanner Reticle Discussion Thread

#2 Please make the "scan width" option easier to use in combat situations. The slider is fine, but it can get hectic to do in an intense combat situation. Something representative but easier to use in the middle of small gang operations!

#3 Allowing us to "Fix" the D-Scanner in a particular direction as well? Such as a specific object in space? This would be useful for many reasons.

#2 Sidemap Browser Overhaul!!!

The sidemap browser is one of the most AWESOME tools but has been left to rot in the years of improvements.

Please, look on improving and renovating this great part of the UI. I recommend expanding its potential beyond simply a sidemap browser, and make it an important part of your interface for navigation and interactions.

Quick thoughts :

Make all the panels customizable for information - so you get 4 panels you can choose to show different information you want easily available on a button press.

For example :

Keep existing functionality for navigation except more flexible, navigating between regions and constellations and being able to explore the map on the fly and visually see your adjacent solar system space easily. Add functionality for the "Color stars by" so you can see data as well as see where your fleet members are as well, so you can track where your pilots are as an FC without needing to be in the map view and get statistics data and so on without having to open the map browser all the time.

A 3D Solar System Map to be shown in one of the panels, so you can see your solar system in 3D and interact as you move through it. May include scan probes.

A 3D Radar that could be used to show you where objects are in immediate grid space around you, would mimic the overview - would give you the ability to see where objects are in relationship to you in space. I think this would move more in the direction that Torfi talked about in one of the video blogs about moving away from staring at a list in your overview and being able to see it.

Drone Grouping and Interface

We need a better interface for drone grouping. Take the Drone window and do 2 things with it :

#1 Add buttons to the window to allow for quick access to dock and attack commands

#2 Allow drones to be assigned to multiple "Groups" arrangements

This means that if I have 5 warrior ii's and 5 ecm drones, I can make a "Warriors Only" Group - an "ECM Only" Group and then a "Mix Group" of warriors and ECM - currently you can't mix and match at all - and are shoe-horned into only single groups and assigning them to only one.

Also, create a visual interface for your groups - here's what I think you should do : Allow the dragging and dropping of drones into the different group types. The drone group manager would allow you to organize your drones in your drone bay by creating a "folder" to drop the drones into from your list of drones. Rather than right click menu options on a flat list. This makes organizing them much more visual and also easy to do for large groups of drones.

EVE Voice

Create video translucent "pop-ups" for EVE Voice using players 3D avatars to show you who is talking in fleet.

I tried to read all the suggestions but for every page I read, one gets added so apologies if these are duplicates:

**Combat/Probe UI**
--make overheating buttons easier to use (partly fixed by UI scaling but not quite)
--make loaded ammo easier to distinguish (faction and T2 ammo have the same Icon as T1 ammo) its gonna be small so a color scheme would be nice
--killing the background while scanning was a big help, now we need the system to stay highlighted while moving our probes (really sucks to probe down a ship and they warp to the other side of the system...since everything is now dimmed, its hard to position correctly)

**anchoring**
--make anchoring of GSC INSIDE POS shield possible, some mechanic related to starbase management can make them unanchor as well

**more drag N drop **
--when I show info on a pilot I want to be able to drag their portrait to chat (or r-click on his corp in overview to copy/paste)
--the ability to drag names from chat into the MAIL UI
--the ability to drag names from chat into the contracts UI

**customer service related***
we have bug reports for things that are clearly broken, and petitions for all sorts of player emergencies, what is needed is the CCP version of 311 (important, I want someone to look at it, but I'll live if it doesn't change) except for these threads, some ideas are clearly not important enough to get the love they need.

**not sure if this is small or whooping huge... (I don't write code much)
--Corp roles, add a few for more variety (even if its Hauler 1 and Hauler 2) corps can then assign them their access
--have a slider on the corp wallet (set by CEO, visible only to CEO) that will trigger a notification if ### isk is removed
(give some corps a fighting chance if they are being ripped off)
--break up the newbie channels into something manageable... I'm on occasionally, and I'm willing to help a new player out but not with 200 noobs, and 20 experienced folks all yammering away scrolling the chat like local in Jita.
