Dear Somer Blink, earlier today I deposited 16 billion isk to play Blinks to get a shot a Gold Magnate - a truly unique ship with actual Legendary status - but now I have been informed that the prize has been withdrawn from the competition. I feel the new prizes, which have no history attached to them at all, are not an adequate replacement of the Gold Magnate. Can I get a refund on the 16 billion isk? I'll of course return all the accidental winnings I had while playing the Blinks for the competition points.

As this was a CCP endorsed event you should petition in game also.

You think so? I posted in the CCP Navigator thread but someone directed me to Somer Blink. I guess GMs would be able to reverse all transactions that were made, but I think that would be a lot more work for them than me just working things amicably out with Somer Blink.

This is one of the most appalling things I have ever heard from a CCP representative. Trust is a marketable commodity in EVE and you are saying, in CCP's name, that this group has been trustworthy to date. Not only can you not possibly know that this is true but you are also giving them a unique 'CCP Audited' title when the reliability of in-game audits is something that is always open to question. Even if you could be certain that they have been 100% trustworthy up to this point you damn well shouldn't say so! Assessment of trustworthiness is a key in-game issue and CCP should have absolutely no part of it.

Seriously, we won't be bringing back the old unique ships for events. We might give other stuff away that is interesting, but no Guardian Vexor, Opux Luxury Yacht, Fedthron, Impoc, SIR, etc, etc.

ha - I was just noticing that too. how does someone win 4 promos in a single day... I'm just ... some people win so many promos... please don't flip out - I'm not accusing blink or any particular user of anything - we're just discussing this awesome site we all love - as a customer paying my hard earned pretend space moneys to use your service, exactly how confident are you that there isn't some kind of vulnerability being exploited?

So that account wins 1 in every 4 blink she plays, and ridiculous wins, Somer blink is very very fishy.

I do not approve of CCP telling us they have been trustworthy in this sandbox, this is not a game for CCP to endorse players.

I don't understand, there seem to be some employees who really understand the sandbox, and others who just don't have a clue, do you guys have no communication around the office at all?

Looks like that player is buying a large proportion of tickets on every blink they play so they will get high wins but slim profit from it - probably are making more ISK than they are losing though if they are playing it smart just not by a large amount.

If you buy all the tickets in a blink, you'll win 1 out of every 1 (100%) - that's not the same as winning as many promos in a day as I've won in 3 years - you only get one ticket in a promo.

Does this mean that if I buy a Supercarrier and use SOMERset Mahm to broker the transaction, if I get duped and my isk gets taken CCP will refund me to the full value as you have just audited and ensured their trustworthyness?

Thing is, you got a free gift of unique items everyone would like and it was CCP that gave it to you. You will make tons of money from it. It's -not- a gift to the community, it's a gift to -you- since the only chance to have a shot at winning one of those things is to become one of your customers.

You might give attitude to those protesting while they still try to get a chance at one of those unique giveaways. It only makes it look like CCP was backing someone that fights for his pride instead of addressing the concerns of the community in a mature way. Giving out customer information in an attempt to silence a protest by making that protester look like a hypocrit does not give you an aura of honesty, more like a shady guy that fights dirty.
