Exhumer/Mining Barge recommended certificates are either Active Shield Tanking Standard/Basic. None of the mining ships have traits giving bonus to armor hit points/resistances.

So for example, mining in a Wolf Rayet wormhole with anything from the current line of mining ships makes no sense, due to wormhole affects on shields.

Wolf Rayet
.......................................................Wormhole Class
Affected Stat........................1........2........3........4........5........6
Armor Resist.....................+10% +18% +22% +27% +34% +50%
Shield Resist.....................-10% -18% -22% -27% -34% -50%
Small Weapon Damage.....+25% +44% +55% +68% +85% +100%
Signature Size....................-10% -19% -27% -34% -41% -50%

In such exceptional situations, maybe you want to protect your mining fleet with a pair of logistics?
I would assume it would be straight down awesome.

With such an increase to resistance, its not even sure you need armor hardeners, bonus from anomaly plus the bonus you can get from a fleet booster would be more then enough to keep you very happy.

If you're mining in a WH, your ass belongs to whoever catches you out. I don't care what kind of bonus to tanking the particular hole gives you. The best tank you can possibly fit is friends with combat ships in the anom with you.

This is a big industrial ship issue, that it's all shield tank.
It's much the same problem command ships have with Command Processors being mid slot only and why CCP is eyeing up making them rigs. in order to be fair to both shield & armour tanked command ships.
If MLU's were rig slots and Cargo expanders also rigs only, then we could armour tank industrial type ships (as well as having larger base cargo's rather than 90% of it being in fittings) as well as a wider range of other fitting options.
