This celebration is absolutely nuts. With CCPs involvement this takes things to an entirely new level.

Blink is wonderfully interwoven into my sandbox experience now.

As one of the newer members to eve, adding these things back into the game seems to be a good idea, honestly i have never seen any of these special ships undock, much less have anything done to them :)

I think it's great to see CCP backing a community-run event.

I don't see it as favouritism or anything of that nature. I see it as a developer taking an active interest in the community that makes their game.

It's all well and good for CCP to run their own events for the community (which I'm not trying to cheapen in any way at all; those events are amazing) - but I think it says something entirely different that CCP get behind something that's come up from the community itself.

I have been playing blinks on Somer Blink for a few months now, I have won my fair share of goodies and would recommend them to anyone. I think it's awesome that CCP are throwing some goodies in as well. This is one very happy customer Big smile
And if some guy can rebuild the Titanic whats wrong with bringing some old ships outta the hanger :P

I like it, Somer Blink has given a lot of isk back to the community with these celebrations and countless promo blinks. Not to mention tons of fun to thousands of people. Also, anyone can blink!

They get better, we get better, you go CCP for supporting this! Shows involvement with the community, I believe. Also looking forward to the killmails :)

5 no like alts posting in a row. If that doesn't show something devious what would?

I guess the noise generators are out in full force to discredit the opposition.

Maybe the anti local chat guys need to start drowning the forums with no like alts to have it removed.

I'd call it breaking promises/guarantees, not "changing their minds".

Chribba, Yourself, Entity.. just how many rare ship collectors are upset about this?

The playing field has been leveled for Joe Average. Bittervets and those who dominate alliance tourneys no longer hold a monopoly on ships worth a small fortune/ the ability to provide hilarious lossmails.

As a return player to EVE I wish I would have jumped into SOMERblink earlier. It makes for a great way to toss up a little risk/reward gaming that isn't available in other MMO's in such a well level degree. Having CCP show some support for this is a great idea. And in fact could lay down some ground for future opportunities with other similar player based communities.

I do not like these somer blink people. They accused me of "scripting", banned me keeping my isk, then ignored my evemails when I asked for an explanation of what I did wrong. CCP shouldn't give them a damn thing. And neither should anyone else.

You need more alt post. 6 isn't enough to drown the rest out.

Hey people CCP is desperate for cash. Goto Amazon and buy the plex and waste it gambling at somer blink instead of keeping your money investing it into the market and creating a passive income in EVE to play for free or you know, buy the ship you want outright.

I'm not a collector, just an interested party since I owned and lost the original gold magnate, and was active back when CCP guaranteed there wouldn't be any more of them.

That's all I'm upset about, CCP making yet another huge mistake, apparently now that Oveur is gone nobody over there cares about this stuff.

PS; This doesn't level the field at all , someone filthy rich will buy a blast win as usual and the richest corp in EVE somer blink will get even richer due to CCP giving them extremely valuable free stuff to sell.

i was being sarcastic.

Adding new ships is fine, i dont care about that.

Adding new ships with blatant favoritism is not fine.

Although I think this idea is pretty cool letting the average Joe get access to these rare ships lets think about how this will pan out.

Average Joe wins the blink and the ship is theirs.
Collector that has more isk than sense comes along an offers the Average Joe more isk than he could have ever made in game for this rare ship.
Average Joe accepts the deal and has fun for the rest of his playing days will all this isk.
Collector stick the ship in a hanger in some high sec station and the ship will never see the light of day again.

So how exactly will this provide content and allow these rare ships to be used in the game ?

The only way I can see it is if there was hundreds released and then it will not be such a rare ship any more.

I just cant see this working out well.

This is bullshit. I'm not worried about favoritism, nor am I worried about the hit that collectors' unique ships might take value-wise. I'm not even upset about the 'luck' vs 'skill' aspect of how they are being awarded. It just seems wrong to do it with an out-of-game entity, and that's not a slam against somer.blink who, as far as anyone knows, is reputable and honest. It seems like a gimmick more than a well planned event. It's sleazy.

Why not just sell them for PLEX? Or wait... I know: Aurum!

Yeah, that's the ticket.
