Gurista 0.0 plex ship advice (Gila)

Hello, I am a returning player and wanted to get back into running DED sites. I used to run them in a Tengu, but I would really like to use a Gila, preferably with a fit that isn't gimped by adding a cloak.

So, I sat down to try and figure out a decent fit and realize, that it has been so long, and that I focused on Drakes and Tengus that my ship fitting skills are pretty bad. Normally, I would just try trial and error, but hostile 0.0 space makes that tricky. So, would anyone mind helping me out with a viable Gila fit? Or a similar ship that would fit the role well. I have an alt for a scout so the ship doesn't need to do that, just run sites and fit a cloak. Thanks so much in advance for any help.

Well sentry drones are in style these days for all drone boats able to field a full flight of them, both for PVP and PVE. So I would start there. Maybe have a look at the Dominix. It is a sexy sentry boat and cheaper than the Gila.

Dominix isn't a great gurista plexing boat. You MJD and the gurista say "Oh rly" and keep on shooting you. its why after all the rattlesnake is the overtanked lump that it is. (dominix is fine for anomolies because those are easily overwhelmed by dominix firepower so long as you respect the triggers).

Ishtar, gila, proteus in a drone config all easily out tank the dominix on guristas after counting sig and speed. I actually prefer alternating the proteus between drone, and a rail-covops-nullifier fit depending on where I am, and what I'm doing. Given the OPs options, if I had to own only 1 plexing boat, it would probably the tengu, I'd buy both tengu and gila if I could afford both.

Maybe try an Ishtar, the racial resist profile suits Gurista perfectly and it get better damage application with drones. Pricing is pretty similar to the Gila.

Also the Domi is a great ship however I much perfer crusiers for hostile space. If you alliance owns the 0.0 space then its less of an issue and can also do the harder plexes which cruisers just don't have the buffer for.

Im blue to no one, so a BS isn't an easy option and that is why I need the cloak. Does anyone have any proven fits for either the Gila or Ishtar?

Thank you for the replies so far.

Cap Recharger II
Conjunctive Magnetometric ECCM Scanning Array I

200mm Railgun II, Spike M

Sisters Core Probe Launcher, Sisters Core Scanner Probe
Improved Cloaking Device II

Medium Auxiliary Nano Pump I

Garde II x5
Light Armor Maintenance Bot II x1
Hobgoblin II x5
Warden II x5

I ran that through osmium and it seems to fit (I'm not at home where my client is).

That should be fine to complete a piths penal - you will have to manage the cap after a while. If you want more dps from it, replace the 2 hardeners with 1 deadspace eanm, and replace the rep with a deadspace rep and use 3x DDA II instead of 2.

The second omni is pretty discretionary to be honest if you want more cap - it will probably still blap frigates just fine with 1.

How is that going to run the Maze?

A - see my first post where I didn't recommend Ishtar at all
B - the maze may not be so common for a roamer anyway. After a month all my spawned sigs have been penals or unrateds.
C - pilot can probably figure it out from there, if recognising it probably doesn't have enough ehp for the maze. The old fits with lows full of sprs not real popular after drone aggro changes.

Armor ishtar is a fantastic guristas plexer, primarily because battleships do single-digit dps to you, unlike turret BS that can hit you if your transversal isn't perfect. Now that it has a range bonus to sentries, you won't need to use wardens for the Pith BS that are at their orbit range (should be easy to get garde optimal to 50km). That means there's literally no downside to popping the jamming ships, tacklers, and elite cruisers first.

That said, I wouldn't advise taking into the provincial HQ (siege railgun turrets = murder), stage 3 of the dread fleet staging point (this is what capital ships are for). The Maze is possibly soloable, my biggest issue with it is the giant kin/explo shot that the station does on its initial aggro (does it still do this? it will 1 shot you if you have no explosive resist), and the fact that it just takes so long with the dps of one ship (both the station and the rooms previous). Also beware the smartbomb in military complex. Just about everything else is an absolute breeze.

Gila has a few disadvantages. Way higher sig radius and far lower kinetic resistance means guristas will actually do damage to you. It also has worse damage projection from sentries and needs a DLA.

My rule of thumb is to fit a Gila roughly like you would a Drake, except using light missiles for targets that the Drake would send its drones to engage. They've got the same medium/low slot pattern, and the same defensive bonus; the Gila has a weaker native shield, but a smaller signature to make up for it.
