Red targets in space are missing...

Hello forums - I've tried asking in local & corp in game (no responses), did a search on google & in the forums, but I'm not sure if I'm phrasing the question and/or the keyword correctly...

I flew into an asteroid belt looking for rats to shoot, and I found some in my overview but I don't see the little red "+" signs in space at all. As soon as I target one rat within the overview window, THEN I can see the little red "+" in space.

The other day they were on all the time, but now they aren't. Is there a toggle setting for them to be always on? I don't know if I mashed my keyboard and turned something off.

check your bracket settings, that seems to be the issue. never had the issue myself so i'm not sure how you'd go about fixing it but i'm guessing bracket settings are as good a place as any to start.

Maybe they got banned for impersonating medical staff.

From what you described you may have been in a cosmos system where, in addition to normal rats, there are NPC 'freindlies' flying around in certain areas (some are belts)... you cannot shoot these.
Alternatively there is at least one belt that I know of that is full of local NPC faction warships (Nakuguard)... this is a Factional Warfare thing.
You can shoot the republic ships and they will turn red...
Anyway,
That's all I know.

I really can't imagine it being a braket thing with NPCs
