Why bottleneck research?

Hey, new player here.

I might have missed something, but can someone explane why there needs to be a bottleneck in regards to research/invention/manufactoring? I haven't had much trouble finding a manufactoring slot but research, really, there are no open spaces available anywhere. Why is that? What pourpose does limiting how many bp's can be researched improve eve, if anything, it could drive down the cost of ships, which means from my understanding, more pew pew, bigger fights, more lols and salty delicious tears.

A pos could be used, but starting out, its way out of my budget. This is a problem as far as I can see. Haveing an infinite number of research slots will make research easyer, but not haveing them does nothing to improve gameplay.

I realize I phrased the subject as a question, but really, free the research. For me, for you, for America! (or your personal country of origin)

most research is actually done in POS towers since the slots in stations are always in use

Pos's are out of my budget, and all the low sec systems I've looked at are full too, I'm going to expand my search, but as it stands everything with in Barlegetue regon is taken...

This. There are a few open ones in low-sec. You just have to find them.

Then significant levels of production are probably also out of your budget.

If there were infinite research slots then there would be little point to the research POS modules, also there would be far less value inherent in researched BPOs and BPCs (one of the main ways you offset the costs of a blueprint).

"Driving down costs" is, in this instance, another way of saying "this element in the production chain is now worthless" which is not a good thing.

Stop trying to expect for isk to fall out of the sky, danger + investment very often equals reward.
