Icon for ME!

Fairly simple idea.
In the local list, there's icons for fleet, alliance, standing, etc
Every bloody time I look at local I have to double check that the neut is in fact me, not a fresh neut.
Any chance we can get an icon that is for us, or just get the green corp icon, or something next to our own names so I stop leaping to action, only to discover that I'll have to shoot myself?

Thanks.

Aren't you supposed to change your settings so neutrals get icons, and they blink?

First thing my main's null corp taught him.

Absolutely. A neutral in system is the most frightening thing in EVE.

Apparently.

This.

Go to Overview Settings, if you haven't you can bind a key to open this from the Shortcuts menu so you can do this in stations.

From Overview settings -> Appearance Tab -> Colortag

find "Pilot Has Neutral Standing" and "Pilot Has No Standing" and make sure both are checked. Drag them into their preferred precedence in the list. Items higher on the list will over-ride items lower on the list, so for example if you are more interested in whether someone is Neutral or Has No Standing than their Security Status then you would drag those two entries above the ones for security status.

Note, these settings are universal to all Overviews and do not change between Overview tabs.

They are however, not universal to all clients. Depending on the machine, the logged in user, and the copy of the client I am running, I get different settings. Changing them all is a pain. A default icon for me would be much easier, and I don't think it would be a tough change.

I use several computers and several accounts with Eve, and yes, it's a massive PITA to manage settings.

But... but... what about your chat windows? Your overview settings? Your IGB bookmarks? Those are just as "not universal to all clients". For me, my colortag preferences are the least of my worries when it comes to multiple clients.

More or less this.

OP there is a reason there is an option to turn this stuff on or off. It's not like everyone in all space has a desire to see who is and is not Neutral.

What you actually seem to want is more reliable import/export of overview settings, which there's already a thread about from CCP.

Well yeah, It's not THAT important in the grand scheme of things, but it's a tiny change. Making all your settings and bookmakrs server side is obviously a big change. This is a tiny client side UI change, just to make 1 thing "easier by default".

So how come I don't see you making this same comment during any of the other thousands of time they've changed something to make is simpler or clearer?
This has the added benefit of not having any negative effects since it's an icon in a chat window.

Press Alt

Press ALT and you will see a box appear of where your ship is. Especially handy if you are cloaked and zoomed out Big smile. Press it a few times so that the box flashes if you have trouble spotting it and shout "FIRE FOR EFFECT!!!, FIRE FOR EFFECT!!!"

I support this. In 0.0 we should have a more clear sign telling who we are and our standing toward ourself.

I remember some time ago I was ratting when all of sudden I see a neutral in local. Imemdiatly warped in safe and checked my D-Scan, but nothing, so i thought it was some of these AFK cloacker in T1 frigate ready to open a cyno and hotdrop me. So I docked. Waited for hours, undocklked again... the neutral was still there...

I wasted a whole day so, you can figure my disappointment when I discovered that the neutral in local was just me.

lol, I really hope this is a true story, and not a troll, but I fear it's the latter :p

But yeah, when you have to quickly scan through it's a pain. It's just as much of a pain when you want to right click yourself in high sec too. In hub systems I'd find it easier to find a couple of my trade alts by a "me" icon as it turns out they have pretty common names.
