Why is it that anytime I want to refine or repackage or use a blueprint or mineral for manufacturing, they have to be in my item hangar?

What is the use of station containers then?

It would be nice to be able to use an item that is in the station container for its intended purpose without having to move it to main item hangar first.

Where does it say that's it's intended purpose?

Obviously it's to hold all of the stuff that you don't want to be able to easily interact with.

For a blueprint or mineral? Manufacturing. As for station containers, most people use them for organization. Just can't use minerals stored in them, nor does the manufacturing window recognize blueprints that are in them.

If so, then I ask a mod to move it. But it was originally a question about the game, not a suggestion for the future.

I use containers for one reason, to help keep me from refining stuff don't want to. Besides, it isn't that big of a hassle to pull a blueprint out is it ? Unless of course your trying to use in from a different system. Then preplanning helps.

would be nice to be able to set up your station containers to work like filters. anything that falls into x category, and wasn't directly moved there by you, should be automatically added to that container.

i like this.

im not even to ***** about this being the wrong forum and all.

Can someone explain to me why there are all these restrictions on items in containers?

Is it some kind of database lookup that has to happen, when you open a container?

And if that's the case, what is the reason for not tagging items instead, and selecting/de-selecting them from view when you jump around "containers"?

I think there is. I think that is why some of the game is the way it is. There is a separate database for your character and your skills and your stuff. All this is checked every time there is a change, like when you move from ship to ship, or ship to pod when you get blown up. That is part of the reason there is lag time in those instances.

At least I think so.
