How hard would it be to add new systems?

Title says it all. I'm not really wanting to debate the merits of introducing new space or whether there's tons of empty null, etc. I'm just wondering what the technical limitations would be--"physically" adding in the space, naming the systems, setting up jump gates, etc.--of creating new space. For example, if CCP wanted to create a region beyond nullsec that was traversed by gates but unclaimable, maybe having no local chat but some other unique features, how difficult would it be?

What would the ramifications of new space mean? Would it make the universe smaller or larger? And then if it was unclaimable, would people still move there? Live there? Does CCP have to name each system or can that be done randomly?

Enter grid and you're already dead, destined to be reborn and fight another day.

Id rather see them shut down lots of systems and corral more people closer with the SOV areas so there will be more wars and more things to actually take over or accomplish in these areas than there are now.

*EDIT* I read what you posted but I didn't give a **** so I posted what I wanted to say regardless..

I think CCP has to build up new systems by hand. Placing every gate, planet, orbit, name everything and so on. Some things may be procedurally generated, like the appearance of a planet from space. But I guess they let the procedure build something, then toss it out and try again several times before they get something acceptable.

Now about your specific type of system: We already got W-space.

It's been done many times before, so I doubt it's too difficult, it's more down to the why rather than the how.

I was unaware that w-space is traversed by gate travel.

Folks who are not interested in such activities will not change their ways and dive in just because space is more crowded and resources are therefore more scarce.

They will most indeed abandon the game.

Get real.

On a scale of 1 to Really Difficult, I would say somewhere around 42.

I don't judge people by their race, religion, color, size, age, gender, or ethnicity. I judge them by their grammar, spelling, syntax, punctuation, clarity of expression, and logical consistency.

Point me to a static wormhole chain and then you can compare gate travel with wormholes.

Your logic makes no sense.. If you got rid of the half that are already empty and pointless the game would be the same you just wouldn't have to jump 15 times to get to the fight. Instead it could be done in 7-8..

My alts have been posting without my knowledge? You really ought to get your facts straight before you start spewing nonsense.

You really should stop posting. You have no idea who my alts are, and you definitely have no knowledge that any of them posted, since, surprise, I only post on my main. Your tinfoil hat isn't providing any meaningful discussion toward the OP, and your conspiracy theories will fail, since, again, I only post on my main.

I have neither the time nor the inclination to justify myself to you, random tinfoil hat poster, or anybody else on these forums who spew garbage out of their mouth in order to provide noise for otherwise constructive communication. I realize that this may come as a shock to you that Eve players--given there are thousands of them--may occasionally have similar ideas about how the game could develop.

I take your lengthy attempt to talk yourself out of this as a obvious sign that I was right and leave satisfied.
