This may be just myself whom this happens to, but essentially when you are trying to organize a large amount of items this can often be a major pain to deal with.

Essentially when you 'Select All' and then click 'Repackage' if you have containers it will automatically repackage the containers and push all of the organize items into the hangar. I would suggest implementing a separate "Repackage Containers" prompt or drop down command. This would simplify the process for those who have a large amount of containers.

Then again, it isn't too much effort to simply select them, but just throwing it out there.

I don't do the "select all" thing anymore, but then again a "repackage containers" prompt would have been usefull in the past. so I guess it wouldn't be a bad thing to have...

EDIT: Isn't there a "I need your little things" Thread for things like that somewhere in the forums?

Yes, good idea. A workaround is to put a + or other non-alphanumeric at the start of your container name so they group at the top of the list. Makes it easier to select everything non-container.

Alternatively it could just warn you that you are about to repackage containers (since we have filters now) and give you the option to not follow through. This cuts down on UI bloat and achieves the same effect.

It doesn't really achieve the same thing since you still have to ctrl-click around your containers.

What about just not repackaging containers which have stuff in them?

1. Name containers so that they are always on top of the list.
2. Select all containers.
3. Right click > invert selection.
.....
Profit!

Or just have a filter to filter out containers.

Also can we get this for Assembled Ships! When you mix up stuff in a hanger and just wanted to repackage mods and drones (read as OCD the cr@p out of the hanger) it's be nice to have a little warning. Especially for those times when you know you've should've gone to bed four hours ago but the immersion overthrew your need for sleep and you're operating with half an eye open and an ever-increasing risk of electrocution from the drool running out of your mouth onto the keyboard.

That's what a "no-containers" filter would be for. You can currently cobble together something like this by allowing only assembled objects with lower than a specified volume but I'd like to see one specifically for Containers.

Assembled ships are treated as containers in the game-code and API so any filter or effect that deals with Containers would also deal with ships :)

Filters are not saved between game sessions. This adds inconvenience espcailly regarding containers, which can be accessed in the left columm of the view and thus don't have to be seen in the main window.

No idea what you're talking about. Filters are very much saved between game sessions, I just now created a new one and restarted the client to double check this.

I really hope not because that's a good feature. No one likes to go "where the crap did I put my guns!?!" only to realize after 20 minutes of searching that they left a filter ticked when the logged out three days ago Roll
