EVE Client Mac Download Issues

Hi there,

I have just resubbed and I am trying to download the client on my Macbook Pro using Google Chrome and 4 times now the download is completing or failing well short of the 7gb download size.

My latest attempt just now got to 3.3gb/6.8gb before the transfer rate went to 0kb/s and Pausing / Restarting didn't get it back online.

I subbed last night and I've been trying for practically 12 hours. It's a joke. Surely there is another way to download the client for Mac than just the whole thing in one download?

I've searched these forums but it appears while other people have had the same issue no one offers a solution.

If you could offer any advice that would be appreciated.

I imagine that somewhere in the 7gb download a packet is being lost which is causing the download to break or something - even if you know of a better download program to use instead of Chrome would be helpful.

Very frustruated.

Thanks,
BN.

Do you have access to bootcamp / Windows? I run EVE on both mac and bootcamp on my macbook and runs a lot better on bootcamp, thought you might want to consider that.

I disagree

If you're downloading through Steam, that's your problem right there. Steam downloads are horrible, bad, terrible and awful -- I'm told on the Windows side as well.

I had no issues downloading direct from CCP, but I am using an iMac. My husband's MacBook Pro's download was noticeably slower but once he cancelled the Steam download, not nearly as bad.

Hi Trudeaux,

Thanks for your reply - unfortunately no I am not downloading it from Steam - I kind of wish I was and I did check Steam but I couldn't find a link to it? it said I had to purchase the client all over again in an Amarri Battle Pack or something - the download protection of Steam would have been nice even if it was slow.

Chrome literally just stopped downloading after 3/4gb -- so frustrating.

I just went out for a few hours and switched browsers to Safari to give that a shot - theres a 7gb file in my downloads now which is a good sign but its been "Verifying…" now for the last 5 minutes :S

We'll see how this goes otherwise I'll need a dev to give me an alternate download option or at least explain how/where I can download it through Steam.

Thanks again,
BN.

Switching to Safari worked - downloaded and installed.

Thanks for the replies.
