I mean, really, I want to fit a ship - not watch UI animation.

Unless your comp is from before this century, it takes 4 seconds to load - maximum.

Solutions:

  • Stop whining

  • Get a better comp

  • Reduce graphics

You are really impatient.

That's 4 seconds each ship you try and view and adjust fittings on.

In TEST, we give out free rifters and thrashers to newbies to encourage fleet participation and community.

Imagine having to sit through that mere 4 second animation fitting up -- not exaggerating -- 200 rifters to give out to newbies.

In short, the animation should be disabled, removed, or have an option to turn it off.

Exactly - also, if the fitting window is buried under other UI windows it's easier to hit the hotkey twice than it is to hunt for it. But then there's that 4 second animation, welp.

There is a way to disable it, you get a door instead of the UI animation Blink

What animation? never noticed it...

ah, now i see, it lasts for 1 sec - maybe getting a new PC must be scheduled soon friend.

Also, re: 200 rifters, no animation when changing ships - only when bringing up the fitting screen.

Another note:
Thousands of ppl playing the game, cannot give an option ingame for their every controversial need.

Does your computer run on coal??

My lappy from 3 years ago that overheats to 90C runs it in 2 seconds...

Seriously.

Get someone else to fit the damn things in TEST.

good point.

Remember what CCP Devs said about docking animations? Something along the lines of:
"You will love to watch it once, but after a few times it just gets on your nerves and costs time"

Exactly the same story with the fitting animation. It's a bit sad that they are very inconsistent in their quality assurance, when it comes to UI and user experience.

Don't knock it. Its one of the few things that seems to work as intended. Please don't encourage them to "fix" it.

And on a mac the animation takes 4-5 times as long as on a pc.

The fitting screen animation takes around 4 seconds on my Mac, if it actually finishes. I've often had to resort to fitting ships where the glowing slot is still hanging off the side of the fitting screen. Most unfortunate. Turning off sound helps, of course.

if you want to scan ship fits can't you view contents?
also did you really get into and then fit 200 rifters before the instant ship changes?

this is a non issue as it took much longer a few weeks ago and you should not be opening 200 fitting windows.

It is amazing how frustrating the EVE UI can be 8 years later ... I'm no WOW fan but their UI just gets better.

CCP should send their programmers to intern with other game companies, they are far too isolated.

Put the equipment into their cargohold and let them fit the ships themself. Also saves you having to open the window etc. and they only need a very few hours to fit the rigs (if there are any).
