Dual Character Training Question?

I am planning on training PI on the 2 extra character slots of my account and since it takes about 10 days ea. I was wondering about how dual character training mechanics works. Do you select a second character to train? Or does it just allow 2 at the same time, so I can train my main and the second account for 10 days and then the third acc for another 10 days whilst my main is training the whole time.

I believe the latter is true - It just lets two characters train on the account at once rather than one.

You should be able to switch the training between any of your 3 character slots when you feel like it if you have dual training activated.

For instance, you could have 3 characters named A, B and C on the same account; activating Dual Character Training allows any combination of A+B, A+C, B+C to be trained at the same time. This provides extra flexibility for the user wishing to train up several alternate characters.

What she said!

You just need to take care to start and stop your character training when you want to switch, since this works the same as normal skill training you would have 30 days of training time that is constantly counting down. Also, please remember that if your main subscription expires and your account becomes inactive that you will need to manually re-start the second character training again.

If you should have any trouble or run into any other questions you can also drop in a support ticket to get more information from a Game Master.

If you activate dual character training, keep in mind that it doesn't renew on its own, you can only renew it on the last 7 days.

That aside, what training takes 10 days? with remapped attributes and implants, I can't really see any usable PI training in less than 30 days, you will really need the Interplanetary Consolidation 5 and Command Center Upgrade 5, as well as at least one character with Remote Sensing 5 to get something worth out of it, the other skills aren't really needed but those 3 really are.
Remote sensing only allows you to actually see a scan of the planet' ressources levels, you want at least one character with a precise idea of where the stuff is located.
Command Center Upgrade allows you to set enough extractors, processing plants, etc and it's really important to have it to 5 or you'll be severely cutting down what you can extract.
Interplanetary Consolidation is nice to have maxed out as it allows you to have up to 6 planets per character, but then it depends how much you want to maximize your production.
Keep in mind also, that Highsec planets are mostly drained from all the concurrence for the ressources, lots of players battle to extract stuff from those exhausted planets.

Why Remote Sensing 5? That just affects how far you can be from the planet when doing the initial survey. Once there's a command centre placed the distance limit no longer applies.

It's Planetology and Advanced Planetology that affect the accuracy of the scan and they really need to be taken to 4/3 or 4/4 or the heat map will be nothing more than a wild guess and the actual extraction rate so far from the surveyed that any planning will be near-impossible

Correct, oddly I had in mind some memory that remote sensing was needed to view in planet mode.

It's needed at 1 to survey the planet at all, at 3 to train Planetology and that's about it (unless one is planning to examine planets a long way apart).
