Fact: 95% of players will have this feature turned off. The rest 5%(i'm being generous) will keep it for lulz or because they dont know how to turn it off.
Reason: imagine a fleet of 250 players coming through a gate with each pilot having its own piece of music... I dont want to be there. Sound stacking is already bad as it is during mass bridging.

Opinions are like assholes. Everybody got one and everyone thinks everyone else's stinks.

I was waiting for someone to bring this up.

Fix: Only the first person through the gate activates the theme tune. And no others can overwrite it until it's finished.

Update: Theme tune can only be a 20 second snippet (To cut down on copyright issues and abuse)

You cannot "cut down" copyright issues and abuse. It is either too short to be recognized and it becomes noise, or it is enough to be recognized for whatever it is - abuse, insult, copyrighted or being plain stupid.

Your idea is mutating into ring tones.

20 seconds are more than enough to make all players on other side shrivel in pain if you put high pitched loud continuous sound as entrance.
This idea gets worse and worse.

Any game with vicinity Audio has a mute button for specific characters because of this exact issue.
