Mining drones keep disappearing

I bought a pair of mining drones 3 different times. I use the command "return to drone bay" when I'm done mining. When I log back into the game next day those mining drones are gone. Is this normal or am I using the wrong command to retrieve the mining drones?

You are looking in the drone bay and not the cargo bay for them right?

Also are you certain they didn't die to NPCs long before that?

and are you in fact waiting for them to return to your ship? that isnt instantaneous you know.

The mining drones are back in the drone bay when I log off. Next day.....there gone.

Sorry dude, but you're making an assumption that is incorrect. There is no drone munching gremlin hiding in your hanger.

You either didn't allow enough time for them to land, got them killed, scooped them to your cargo hold or just forgot and warped off without them.

I hate losing drones, but 4 years in and I'm still warping off without them. Sometimes you don't notice until the next time you get in the ship and realize you have no drones. But they didn't just vanish while I was offline.

I don't know man, those gremlins are a nuisance. My Warrior II's couldn't possibly be getting blown up, and they have to be going somewhere.

But in all seriousness, I quite often find that even in the amount of time it takes to align and warp an Orca, my drone's have not made it back into my drone bay and gotten left behind. You really need to make sure that they have landed.
