ladies and gentlemen, (half of) Rainfleet mk III

2 more screens to come. iphone and keyboard included in the shot for size reference--this is what windows sees

LG LP097QX1-SPA1, more commonly known as the retina display. 2048x1535 resolution each, big enough to hold 4 clients comfortably. with no overlap.

and this is half.

these parts just came in today, so I haven't had a chance to play on it yet. i'll let you know how it goes. it's tiny

ice mining is about the worst possible activity i can think of ever doing again. i did it once for a few sessions and i think i'd rather hold my hand on the burner of a hot stove than mine ice. of course, if they put ice in wormholes...i might mine it here and there...simply so i wouldn't ever really have to leave my system. the space outside my wormhole is scary.

it seems alright <-computer does this thing where the selected client gets max power, the remainder get throttled somewhat. I'm highlighted, getting 53 fps

but a 4 client x 4 monitor grid might be too CPU intensive... I may have to put my old rig back together, or build another one and see if i can get playable speeds after separating the video cards on separate motherboards/CPUs.

the pink board is the backing the screens arrived on. completely Minmatar--why look further for a mounting method when it came in one? lol (for now, it'll do)

I took another picture, with a double A battery for reference. damn my shaky hands--the pixels are super clear in person.

well, duh, of course they are, it's a "retina" display :-D (sorry, i'm not the most aware at times)

Hi,

first of all: I like pink.

Next a little question: How do you connect those screens to your computer ? I suppose they don't come with a HDMI input. ... also how many Graphic cards are in your computer ?

Also, thanks for proving that avatar performance can't be that bad, if you manage to run 8 CQs. Twisted

Jill, this setup depends on Displayport. it's mostly an Apple thing, and the signal used by the LCD screen is eDP... related to Displayport.

it also depends on a Displayport 1.2 cable. the bandwidth for the signal is higher. I tried using a cheap-o Displayport 1.1 cable, but the monitor wouldn't respond.

The video cards I use--Radeon 7970s, paired, have 4 Displayport outs.

also, HDMI is not capable of a resolution higher than 1920x1080. the rating one would be looking for, to push these LCDs is referred to as UXGA or XGA.

i went to one after a particularly expensive (and no immediate isk available =( ) loss to mine and mission my resources back. that's probably what you are referring too.
