Version 7.1.4 is out.

  • Changed the error message to warning when the plan has some issues that can be ignored (routes with 0 product transiting,...).
  • Now a warning popup will appear and list all the problems in the plan. The structures with problems will be ignored when running the plan.
Note: the warning will show each time you try to run a plan with problems unless you check to ignore it. (To un-ignore it, just restart the UI)
  • Fixed a couple of potential exceptions

No I did not know about that.
I have been looking at the website, but could not find out how to add my application to it.
Do you know how ?

Version 7.1.6 is out.

I fixed bugs reported by Arriaz related to prefilled storages and running the plan.
Things should be ok now.

Hi.

Thanks for this great tool. It has saved a lot of time and kept frustration regarding PI to a minimum.
I had a little break from PI a month or two, but I recently started up again.
When I started your program the first time, it updated to the newest version.
After that I keep getting this annoying error message every time I start the program.

http://prntscr.com/11f4ob

Clicking "OK" gets me in the program.
Then, no matter what I try to do, I get this message:

http://prntscr.com/11f4x1

I think the exeption text is to big to post in here, and will be provided upon request instead..

I am not sure if there is something that I have changed in my setup since the last time I used the program that could be the reason. Even if I delete everything and extract the program to start from scratch, it still shows that same message. It is as if it can't get access to a specific file. At least that is my uneducated guess...

I managed to fix that error - if you look in the 'Details' It's probably trying to find the EVECacheParser.dll - it can be downloaded from https://bitbucket.org/Desmont_McCallock/evecacheparser/downloads (You'll want the 1.01 version if I remember rightly - just put it in the same folder as the .exe)

Although more recently I'm getting a Secified cast is not valid error whenever I try to refresh the cache data:

System.InvalidCastException: Specified cast is not valid.

Version 7.1.7 is out.

I fixed an issue reported by zinner Antollare and ArthurDent68 regarding the 'Find' feature.
Now the tool should be able to find the systems no matter the number format

Sorry for the lack of update/support lately.
My wife is soon due to deliver our twins, so with our 2 year old son running everywhere I am quite busy taking care of everything at once.
Still, I am working on a major update of the tool.
I have hope to be able to have it ready in a couple of month (it is THAT major).
I will still try to fix bugs whenever I have time.

Version 7.1.8 is available.

Added support to show a warning when some dependencies needed by the tool are not met. Basically when the EVECacheParser dll is not in the tool folder

Hi Ideki,

I've been doing Planetary Interface since it was released, and I tried out your tool.

One of the very first things I noticed, is the volume capacity for Storage Facilities is still set to the beta/release capacity of 5000m3 - however the current storage facilities in game are at 12000m3!...

A minor detail given the tool will never show what is inside, but still relevant enough that you may want to change it.

Also, your tool does not highlight the "Doughnut Hole" between the processing of Tier 3 and Tier 4 commodities, with if left unaccounted for will cause idling of the High Tech Processor on the assembly planet. Including this discrepancy may not be relevant to what you are trying to do with your tool? But it is very often missed by less experienced pilots doing PI at Tier 4 - so just thought I would mention it.

Additionally, it would be helpful in calculating costs, to add a editable box for the Custom's Office tax rate. As an in game practical example, I set up a colony system for a 6 planet Tier 4 Advanced Commodity but forgot to check the Tax Rate for the low sec custom's offices -- it's so high that I will have to decommission the colonies in system and rebuild them else where all over again... Having this feature might go a long way to in directly remind the user to check the tax rate for the customs office of the planet that they are simulating a colony for?

On a technical side, a Installer would be a nice addition if you can swing it?

Those are just some observations you might want to consider.

Otherwise the tool seems nice for what it does.

Hi,

Thank you for your feedback.
I will look into those issue asap.
Right now I am working on a new version of the tool that I hope to finish soon (tm).
I will then see what I can do to fix those issues.
I also plan to incorporate the tax rate in the new version.

Just a quick update to keep you informed (and the thread unlocked).
I am still working on the next big update of the tool.
It has really progressed a lot and I hope to have it ready by the time Rubicon arrives.

I want to thanks everyone for your support and donations.
That really keeps me going and improving the tool.

I hope everyone will love the next big update. Big smile

I know I said I would have the new version ready for Rubicon.

But I had a few things going on IRL, and I got some new ideas I wanted to also add to the new version.
Long story short: I will need a little bit more time. I will try to get it out before January. But I think you will like all that I added. :)

Ideki,

Could you share some insights on this warning that Norton is giving about the planner ?

PS - this is from a fresh download.

Hum this is weird.
First time I see that happening.
I know my compiling machine is safe because I have McAfee on it, the subscription is up to date and I scan it regularly.

Ah... I see now...
ok, go read this link

This is an official Norton explanation of the 'WS.Reputation.1' that was reported by your Norton on my tool.
It looks like they implemented a new mechanism to be 'smart' about viruses.
From what I see their algorithm is not so smart because as far as I know my tool has never been infected.
At least not from my machine nor, from the Google website I post it on.

So now you have 2 possibilities.
Either you trust Norton and you cannot use my tool.
Or you trust me and restore the tool (I think the steps are in the link)

Meanwhile I will submit to them a White-Listing request to prevent such situation to happen again in the future.
You can also submit a false-positive report yourself to help in the process. (it's in the link at the very bottom of the text. quote: 'Details of that program can be found here'. Click on 'here' and select 'Click here to report a FALSE POSITIVE detection')

Thanks for the response. Ive been using this tool for ages and figured it was a case of Norton being silly. Good call on applying for the white-list. Hopefully that will prevent future users from going "hrmm" :)
