Game breaking issue here...

So I know this probably isn't the best forum for posting these kinds of things but I figured this forum gets a good amount of attention SO......

Anyone having any constant crashing issues as of today? I've tried logging in and the game does work fine but it is constantly freezing then sending me to a black screen, then 10-15 seconds later it goes back to the game and it starts working ok again. Well, at least for a good 5 sec before it freezes, black screens, then works again.

I've run the gamut of making sure my drivers were up to date, updated ALL my system's drivers just in case something weird happened between yesterday and today but it hasn't done a single thing to help!

I run an ATI HD 6950 by the way, so did CCP do something that interferes with ATI drivers?

I'm so lost because yesterday the game ran PERFECT and now today, I can even play it in the state its in...

Anyone else having this issue?

Maybe something is overheating?

Things are only impossible until they are not.

I thought about the overheating thing too, but wouldn't if the card was the problem and it was overheating wouldn't my other games show problems as well? Because I've tried my other games and they all work flawlessly its just eve that has the problems...

Tried reinstalling EvE?

That doesn't work, tried reinstalling windows? Shocked

Post with your main, like a BOSS!

And no, i don't live in highsec.  As if that would make your opinion any less wrong.

Pull the lid off anyway, stick your hand inside, if you feel heat, leave the lid off for a bit, and see if your stability returns. Cheap test.

Viddy drivers, if you are set to auto-update, can hose some apps and not others so it's worth checking.

Clear your cache and try again.

You can find that in the escape menu,
there's an appropriately named tab.

Also, i see no reason why you would limit the options to the gfx card.

If nothing changes, file a petition or a bug report.
(i have no idea where to file a bugreport. can't find it now. Always used
the ingame-feature, which they've removed. sorry :/)

nothing changed today for me, though recently eve takes at least 5 minutes to exit properly, no clue what that's about

you can also try repair.exe(in the main eve folder) to see if your install is corrupt
if it is you may need to run repair.exe sevreal times before it finishes it's thing :)

For the record i do get a "display driver has stopped responding and has recovered" from windows when this is going on. No idea whats causing it to crash tho I'm convinced it has to be something with the game itself, everything else works great.

Run some stress testing tools like Furmark. The GPU recovering could indicate a hardware problem with your card. See if you can replicate it in any other software.

I used to get that with other games, where it would only happen with a certain game. In the end, the card burst into flames. I'd suggest saving up for a new card now, or just take it as a good excuse to upgrade.

With the increase in shiptoasting, the Report timer needs to be shortened.
