Is there a way to import your skill plan into your characters skill que?

Yes. Manually.

If your talking about importing an EVEmon skill plan and have it add the skills to the queue, then no.

There is no way to do it automatically. You will have to resort to the ole' click n' drag. However, when you start training skills that take weeks, it won't seem like such a hassle anymore, more of a treat.

Personally, the limitations built into the skill que have never made much sense to me; why shouldn't I be able to make a massive que of skills train, then set it and forget it?

Couldn't make much of a plan, anyways. 24 hours doesn't yield many skills at a time, except for perhaps the first week.

I agree. You could set your long term plan and then just interrupt it when you need to.

Because that's not what the skill queue was designed for. It was introduced to prevent you from needing to wake up in the middle of the night to change skills.
