Patch updating: Steam vs Std

My first EVE install was through Steam. A year or so later I added a second account, installing it outside Steam.

Since the new launcher release I have noticed that the Steam tree requires a much, much longer time to patch (even for small patches) than then Standard CCP tree. Today - Standard 40 seconds. Steam? 10 min 15 sec.

Curious if other Steam installed users and/or CCP have same experience of overly long install times?

It's simple, really.

Quit patching through Steam.

When Bon Scott died and he appeared before St. Peter at the gates of Heaven, St. Peter looked at his record and told him he couldn't get in. Just then, God screams at Peter, "Let him in, Karen Carpenter is driving me nuts. I want to hear some music with balls. We'll haggle over the paperwork later." At least I hope that's what happened.

I'm using the repair in the Steam tree. You wouldn't think it would be any different...
