Jesus, Bloody Wrench! You're giving the worst advice and being rude! Yes, SSDs are awesome, I use them, but not everyone can afford them. And the PC he described is not crappy as you're suggesting, I think you might just be spoiled. The OP asked for advice for upgrades for EVE performance, not to overhaul the system, CPU, etc.

Hardly spoilt.

How can you offer advice on what to upgrade if you don't know what motherboard it is?
Are you going to tell him to buy a GPU x8 or x16 if the mobo only supports x4 or worse?
What if he still has an AGP slot and no PCIE at all?

You can't just go to the dump and buy any old tyre and just hope it fits your car. The same goes for computer parts.

SSD provide a noticeable, visual improvement, in comparison to what I suspect would be a 7200 or possibly a 5400 drive. It's a no brainer. When was the last time you looked at pricing? I suspect they are $1/gig or better now, they were headed there 2 years ago. EDIT: and using strictly as an OS drive means you can keep it small.

Upgrading eves performance is directly related to overhauling the system. Be that through hardware upgrades, software (in this case version downgrading), and taking control over what the system is running in the background.

I can give advice like that, Mr. Vulcan, because it works regardless of his motherboard. The fact that he has a motherboard made past 2002 means I can recommend things with SATA connections, and I clearly made the point about PCIe cards IF HE HAS THE SPARE SLOTS. That's called a conditional.

So it looks like I have an A55MX motherboard with socket FM1.

I do have spare PCI slots.

I'm looking to upgrade both processor which I am swinging towards the A6-3670K, and graphics card but not sure what to get according to the spec i have

Expansion
1 x PCI-e x 16 Slot
1 x PCI Slot
1 x PCI-e Slot

Confirming that the right choise is to buy a SSD drive. I did that and it really made me happy (boot time to windows ~12sec).

I disagree!

Right, but when I have Windows on a HDD and EVE installed on the SSD, it barely made any difference at all, even when loading the EVE client.

I guess that brings us to the real question: Are we upgrading to make EVE better, or the whole PC better? If the latter, this isn't really the best place for that discussion.

thank you sir.

System now has an AMD A6-3670 with a 6550HD radeon shared.

Now, i understand that having a dedicated makes the experience whole lot better and i wonder if the community can comment on the following card or at least suggest a mid range card that still has a gives a good experience? Budget is an issue which is reason for the one i have suggested below.

XFX HD 7770 Core Edition 1GB GDDR5 Dual DVI HDMI DisplayPort PCI-E

Says the guy who suggested a Raid-0 with dropbox backup for a game that has cloud saved games. Right.

OP i can suggest also an SSD, however its more luxurious, it also works without... upgrading RAM and Graphics Card might be your best bet so far though. Some very good tips in here!

You don't want to be anywhere near maxing out a cheap Power Supply if there's anything expensive inside the box.

Are you saying that I have a cheap power supply?

Tesla 500W 12cm Fan ATX PSU.

Look at your OP, then back at my post.
Sadly, your OP is not my post, but with Old Spice body wash, it can smell like it.

(Your OP said you had a 300W PSU)
Anyway, I'm a fan of Thermaltake PSUs. But the general upgrade order stands, you've just done the first two or three steps on the list.
