The ultimate in EVE teamwork - Super Titan

I think it is obvious that a few years back Titans were scarce, now they are common, with more than one, in any major coalition battle.

I propose (with the help and ideas from blackhawk0042) a super titan. A one of a kind.. non racial ship requiring a massive amount of teamwork to operate. I'm not here to propose any fitting. Just the idea.

The ship would act in sorts like a station, where fleet members can dock their pods into different positions within the ship, example:

[Position name] (# of positions): [description]

The ship would have the following positions:
Captain (1): pilot
Acquisition Officer (1): acquires and locks targets, in an either automatic fashion, or a manual fashion (something similar to how relic and data cans have to be hacked into now)
Combat Officer (3): 1 for each turret fit to ship, controls one highslot weapon)
Maintenance Officer (3): repairs the ships shields or armor

With the suggestions above, it would take 8 EVE players working together to command this ship.

It doesn't have to stop with just those positions either, more could be thought of to require even more players and more teamwork. The possibilities are endless.

this could also create many new skills for eve players to train.

So, discuss!

Because in 6 years there wouldn't be 1500 of those running around at all either right? And then maybe we would have threads proposing the super-duper titan...

Since the cessation of their usefulness is imminent, may I appropriate your belongings?

After that it's only a matter of time until we're asking for a super duper mega ultra titan.

While i do appreciate your sarcastic and arrogant comments Roll.. the idea was more focused around teamwork than anything.. the idea could just as easily be morphed to fit the role of a battleship or capital ship.

I personally don't see it as not leading to the same situation in a few years or so, also I'm pretty sure this wouldn't be possible because of the legacy code, though I might be mistaken.

I've heard of CCP mention something called "power creep". pretty sure this is the sorta thing they are trying to avoid.

I keep reading that Titans were never meant to be anything but a status symbol, and there was never meant to be many of them, instead people starting making fleets of them, and CCP suddenly had to go and nerf/balance them.

I would be against this idea.

... unless I get a free Super Titan, then I am in.

I apparently have no idea what I'm doing.

Problem 1: believe it or not... the legacy code of EVE doesn't support there being more than one player in any one ship at the same time.

Solution 1: Fix the code!

Problem 2: People will just get alts and sit them in those "extra" positions so they don't have to worry about the incompitence of other mouth breathers.

Solution 2: Make it a really complex system so that multiboxing is nearly impossible!

Problem 3: In that case... why would people give up the simplicity and power of having all those same pilots each in their own Titan?

Solution 3: Make it powerful enough that it's worthwhile to use despite the effort!

Problem 4: Large organizations will use that power en mass then and curbstomp anyone who doesn't use them.

Solution 4: (insert arbitrary restrictions here)

Problem 5: Arbitrary restrictions don't work as they can be easily bypassed mechanically with some extra organizational effort out of game.

Checkmate.
