It's easy to forget to update your clone and if you get podded they're some serious consequences.

Suggest you employ the T1 "Sticky Note" and locate them in strategic places to remind you... such as your monitor, the bathroom mirror, the door of your mini-bar, the forehead of a loved one... Roll

Even though I am all for harsh consequences I would like to have a confirmation box opening when you're trying to leave station with an inadequate clone. Difficulty shouldn't come from having to remember to click something after getting podded, it should come from complex decision making and thinking on your feet in the heat of battle. If difficulty from remembering stupid little things CCP could as well do away with all the other confirmation boxes like clone jumping that would destroy one of your clones, repackaging ships fitted with rigs or entering a price in an order that is way above regional average. Surely nothing of this has ever happened to those who think that losing SP because you forgot to click a button is good design.

And if you still want to play EVE on hardcore, just click "do not show again".

On clone costs: Why should having a lot of SP not have a drawback? If you're so old that your clones become expensive you should be able to afford it and if not you shouldn't have trained those skills, I mean, you knew that the clone costs were going to become expensive? I also like it as a mechanic to keep even small ship and then pod losses at least moderately relevant to an old player. Accounts also come with three character slots so if someone really wants to avoid clone costs he can do that by starting new characters to specialize in different things.

Look, if your SP is so large you have to hock a lung to afford your clones, the solution is simple: Stop flying dumb, stop training, train an alt instead. CCP gave you 3 toons to train per account. Instead of putting all your SP into one toon, how about you diversify but training each toon to fill specific roles?

Don't ban me, bro!

If you have too much SP then you must sell your SP. I'm currently paying 1 billion ISK for every 1 million SP you give me in pods. More details will be available later.

If I could pick which skills I'd lose I would happily take you up on that offer.

-edit- Can we please be able to keep the lost sp when we pod someone and they lose it?

If you can't remember to perform a simple monkeytask like to update your clone the moment you are podded your not cut out for ''complex decisions '' are you ?

We are all born ignorant, but one must work hard to remain stupid.

You have a point I agree. But still I think that a player shouldn't have to bother with monkeytasks in the first place.

Yeah, I'm all for a dark gritty hard Eve universe as long as the game flashes up warnings every time I do something that may impact my character in a negative way. Please hold my hand!!!!!

BTW: I'm being sarcastic... HTFU.

Edit: Although I quoted Dracrys, I am aiming this also at the OP and the other 'lets have warnings to protect us from our own actions' people.

Jint Hikaru - Miner / Salvager / Explorer / SpaceBum In the beginning the Universe was created. This has made a lot of people very angry and been widely regarded as a bad move.
