CONCORD Kicked My Ass

Only been playing for a few days and am hoping to be a pirate when I grow up. So today I went out in my probe (bad choice I know) and attacked a miner in 0.6 sec space. CONCORD came and one hit killed me about 3 seconds later. So, how low sec do you have to go to avoid them? If they are in all sectors of space, is there a way to go unnoticed to them? Cloaking perhaps?

CONCORD doesn't patrol lowsec (0.4 through 0.1), only gate guns.

Alright, I'll have to get something better than a probe and fly out there

Pirate Expect to be killed repeatedly yourself if you go off into lowsec alone, which may put a damper on your plans. May I suggest heading down into Corp Recruitment forum and looking for postings for lowsec corps that may take you in and train you in the arts of pvp and piracy; or putting your own post up explaining what you'd like out of the game. Because lowsec is a lot more fun if you have a group when you're new -- take it from me!
Good luck!

Come down to Providence, we just -LOVE- pirates.

BoBwins Law: As a discussion/war between two large nullsec entities grows longer, the probability of one comparing the other to BoB aproaches near certainty.

CONCORD is not in Null or WH's either.

In all honestly, it sounds like you definitely need to spend some more time becoming familiar with even the basics of the game before launching your ill-prepared self into Pirating.

Don't listen to them. You can start pirating from day 1! Just find yourself a decent mentor to fly around with you and help you out.

Yeah right. With the 'trust issues' in this game ?

One is better off on one's own.

Yeah, why play multiplayer in an MMO?
And of course, no corp would ever try to recruit new players.
All corps are actually just 1 man with a lot of alts.

OP: I'd suggest finding a pirate group (Either ganker group, low-sec pirates or maybe hi-sec war-dec corps) and learn. Pirating is possible almost from day 1, but the learning process without someone to teach you is really steep.

Good advice hath already been given.. join a pirate corp, yarr and stuff.

Aside from that, I would recommend going for a rifter instead.. it's a classic newbie pirate ship, and you can't go wrong with a classic.

mind you, in null, you could get some nice troll kills with a probe too.. if you fit it with a probe launcher to find those relic/data sites and then wait at those for some cov-ops/explorer to go into one, thinking your just another probie guy, and suddenly get killed because you're not there to hack, you're there to kill the hackers.

Does railgun ammunition come in Hollow Point?

LOL. When I saw his ship of choice, I ran off to EFT and threw together a probe of doom. Matter of fact, I think I may run the explorers out of my town and keep the sites just for me.

Not at all bad suggestions, the rifter does have a utility high which makes it viable-r.
Catalysts/Trashers might be too obvious gank ships in lowsec. Big smile
If it wasn't, I would use those. They are a LOT of gank per ship!

Actually, I meant using a PROBE, not a rifter.. a rifter is obviously a combat ship.. a probe or a cheetah is not.. so when they see one, they think you're just there for exploration.. and suddenly BAM, you're on top of them, got them webbed and scrammed and are shooting them. ( granted, with only 1 gun.. but 1 gun is better than no guns )

Consider a Catalyst (or Thrasher) and continuing violencing boats in CONCORD patrolled space.

Thrashers in Jita do a wonderful job of murdering expensive pods.
Catalysts (or gangs thereof) do a similarly wonderful job of murdering miners.

Aye, what other people have suggested; however, if you choose to stick around highsec and gank a little while longer the blaster catalyst and arty thrasher are you friend. Learn Concord response times. 0.6 is not 3 second Concord response time (wasn't sure if you were making a joke, or not). And go from there. You will be amazed at how many people fail fit their ships and you will be able to solo them within a couple weeks of skills (I think, been awhile, correct if wrong). But, a gang of like minded friends is way more fun and you can jump right into the fray despite lacking more intensive skills.

Train Gallente Destroyes. Train Gunnery, Blasters, and Weapon Upgrades - fit a cheap Catalyst with high-meta T1 blasters and mag stabs, and go forth with the jolly roger hoist high! Barges will burn before your guns and the tears will flow. Pirate

Also, your security status will plummet, and the bounty for your death will become large. But who cares, eh? Twisted
