I just purchased a character off of the Char Bazaar named "RoidsGoBoom".

Sigh. Love his skills, not so much his name.

Does CCP ever entertain a request for a character name change?

My gut feeling is no but you could always send a petition to GM's and find out.

Nope, your request will not be granted. CCP only allows a name change under very specific circumstances, namely, when the character has a name that is considered extremely offensive.

I think you can petition all you want, but I think that CCP will not change the name of a character.

Part of the charm of EvE is the long lasting consequences for your actions. If you can wipe away your character's past with a simple name change a part of the charm is lost.

Bottom Line -- Pick a good name to start and guard your reputation wisely.

Ok thanks.

Maybe if I tell them I have hemorrhoids and am offended by it.

If it helps, I'm offended by your hemorrhoids too.

If you didn't like the name then why did you purchase the character? Lol

The only time CCP will change a name is if it is offensive, or if it is just a capitalization change (as the search function and Eve in general don't account for capitalization).

I once podded myself by blowing a huge fart.
